Traci Reed Designs Creative Team August Layout Wrap Up
Hi friends and welcome back to my blog! Lately I have been creating some fun fall themed projects for the Traci Reed Designs Creative Team, and today I wanted to share 3 Ways To Use Digital Kits in Hybrid Layouts! You can see many other layouts I have created and shared here on my blog at this link: Theresa Moxley for Traci Reed Designs. It is the end of August and I am so excited to see fall returning this year! I am excited to bring out the warm sweaters and the colorful decorations. I am super excited for our kids to go back to school and see their successes this year. And of course I am thrilled to capture our memories and document them in the 6×8 hybrid format out of the pocket. After doing pocket pages for so many years it is super fun to just create in a different format.
Mix It Up Monday With Hearth & Hollow and My Oasis
Traci inspired us to create a layout combining these two fabulous collections and it worked out perfectly for my August Introduction page. I’ve decided to place fall into its own album this year and let my pink 2023 album that I’ve been working in just be for January – July. So I don’t actually have my fall album quite yet, making the final decision on which one is giving me a hard time! Ha! But I decided for my Introduction page to do a scalloped vellum with that stunning yellow floral. I just absolutely died when it came off the printer! That set the tone for more repeated yellow tones throughout the layout. I brought in a little bit of blue in the August title, which used the digital alphabet from Hearth & Hollow. Don’t you just love the little welcome sign too?!
For the page underneath the vellum I repeated the scallop edge and created a grid using the fun frames in the My Oasis collection. I chose icons that felt very fall-ish to me and also feel relaxed and comfortable with a warm vibe we are looking for. I also quoted a little Taylor Swift from the song “August” because that just needed to be included too. The little flower cluster at the bottom gives a little pop of yellow again! Traci Reed Creative Team Scraplifts Kaye
Another fun layout I created is this super awesome starry scraplift of team member Kaye Jackson! Kaye is a fantastic hybrid designer and her use of stars on this layout floored me. I loved her use of stitching and the repeating stars to highlight her son and his accomplishments! This is what scrapbooking is all about! This layout was created using the beautiful stars from the Renewal Digital Collection. I’ve stayed pretty close to her original design but instead of using a pocket page, I created a full 6×8 page with a travelers notebook signature and a second photo. This was the perfect way to document River going for their driving permit!
Traci Reed Designs Solo Post | Photoshop In Five
For my Photoshop In Five solo post this month I created another scallop edge page to go along with the August Introduction page I did earlier. You can see this post on the Traci Reed blog here: Theresa Moxley Photoshop In Five. We have been fortunate enough to have quite a bit of rain lately, and this particular morning I captured the rain drops pouring onto the door to our back patio. The scene just looked apropos of everything right now, so I made it the feature of this page. Using the scallop design from the Introduction page, I clipped this colorful floral from the Hearth & Hollow collection and sent it to the Silhouette to create the backdrop for my journaling. I also added some digital mixed media and just a few embellishments to complete the page. The little tag at the top of my photo is also from Hearth & Hollow, along with the title I created from the alphabet set. They are made to look like knitted sweaters!
