Stretch Your Stamps YouTube Hop | Theresa Moxley December Daily 2021 Day 12
Hi friends and welcome to the Stretch Your Stamps YouTube Hop with Shu-Wen Tham of ChouxPuff Creations! I was so excited when Shu-Wen asked me to participate in July, because this month is all about number stamps. And boy, do I love some number stamps, especially when it comes to December Daily. So that is what I am sharing with you today: a process video for my 2021 December Daily Day 12. If you’d like to see the December Daily pages that came before this, check out this link: 2021 December Daily.
As mentioned, the theme for this month’s Stretch Your Stamps is…..numbers! So I brought most of my number stamps out to play! There were a few I didn’t use, but my favorites for sure were included. My story for Day 12 was about our annual tradition of seeing the Lights at Tanglewood. We go every year, it’s a drive thru light display hosted at a local golf course. This year just Alan and I went and the kids stayed home, so it was like a date night! I had the back of Day 11, which was a card stock pocket that I used for my kraft paper travelers notebook that day. You can see that page here: 2021 December Daily Day 11.
I’ve used blank white card stock cut to fit the back of the pocket as my base for all the stamping. My one biggest advice for getting the impression you want, is to test test test. Remember that stamping results come from three different variables: your stamp, your ink pad or cube, and your paper. I’m using HP Heavyweight Project Paper here, which works fairly well. And in full disclosure, I am one who does not get terribly upset if the images aren’t perfect. Don’t come for me! LOL! I love the handmade, imperfect look it gives. You can see how I began in the lower right hand corner, and just started filling in with different numbers. In between each of the numbers I also stamped word sentiments and stars, all in black ink. My idea here was to have the emphasis on 12 (I know, it’s not really obvious, right? LOL) See the bottom of this post for a list of currently available stamp sets that were used here.
For the right hand side of the layout, of course I needed space for my photos + story. Since the left side of the page is very busy, I opted for a simple page protector on this side to keep it simple. This was absolutely the best choice, as the photos stand out beautifully. I kept the title simple too, using the striped card (Ali Edwards) as the base, and layering the transparency circle and words on top (also Ali Edwards). A fun little thing I found about 4×4 pockets is that if you cut down a 4×6, you can use the little strip left over for the second 4×4 pocket. And that is exactly what I did here! I added it on top of plain white card stock, added the tiny chipboard stars, and wrote out my journaling. The little tiny puffy word sticker adds the perfect little thing at the top. For my photos, I added more tiny stars to repeat the stars that were stamped on the left side. I still tried to keep these clusters simple – and I really do love how these pages came out!
We hope you will hop over to see the other participants on the Hop through these links here: You can also see more on my blog here: As you can see, I have used a bunch of stamps on this layout! Some of them are probably discontinued now, so I encourage you to use any and all of the number stamps you have in your collection already!
