Project Life 2021 | Introduction Page ft Elles Studio

Hey everyone and welcome back to Project Life! It has been so long – almost a full year – since I have done a Project Life spread and I am so excited to dive back in! Today I wanted to share my Introduction Page in my 2021 album with you, using Elle’s Studio kit products. If you’d like to see other Project Life albums, there are quite a few in the right side bar, and you can see my 2019 layouts here: 2019 Project Life. Have a look at today’s process video below.

Introduction pages are always so much fun to create, aren’t they? The hopeful anticipation of a new year and all the good that we are hoping for is able to be brought into this layout using just the right products. I have a few things I like to include in the Introduction page, namely who is in the album, the year it is, and a little about starting the new year. I dove into my Elle’s Studio kits, which I have been subscribing to for two years now. I love their products for the bright happy colors and the happy icons and phrases they include. I have been gathering my kits and sorting them by color, which helps tremendously to pull a layout together.

I thought I was going to begin this layout with mostly grey and some touches of color, but as I got into the process, I realized that it needed all the colors of the rainbow. I had printed out two photos of myself and Alan that were taken back in November of 2020. One serious, one of us kissing, just for fun. These days I mostly just document our lives together and the kids appear as cameos – ha! – and that is part of the transition known as teenage-hood.

The title card:

I began the layout with a title card that houses the year number. The wooden 2021, from Elle’s Studio, looks great layered on top of the grid card, and I also stamped just a few tiny red hearts plus the word sentiment at the bottom. The mint green set the tone and became the impetus for all the other colors in the layout. There are other mint green cards too. I really love that one color can inspire the entire rainbow!

My idea for this layout is really to express what we hope to bring into the new year, what hopes and dreams and emotions and intentions we are holding. Last year was, no doubt, an absolute dumpster fire and yet we still have each other, we still have laughter and we still have so much gratitude. We are safe and healthy, and while we recognize our immense privilege, we also will push forward with optimism. Every card on the layout repeats that theme, filled with color and happiness because even though we don’t know what is ahead, we are going to hold together.

How many rainbows exactly?

I’ve lost count, but there are quite a few rainbows on this layout. My favorite card is the one at the bottom, with all the colorful lines across it, and the puffy hearts layered on top. Color for color, so much fun texture, make that so happy! I also loved adding the stamp directly to the card, this is love, and the hello and cutie across the bottom. We are still quite the love birds. Nothing will ever take that away from us!
