Hi friends and welcome back to the blog! They say there is no time like today, and today seems like a great day to jump back into Project Life! I will admit that my albums for this year and last year have been sitting on the shelf. I have been collecting more product that I use, taking photos and just letting them sit on my phone, and basically doing everything in life BUT Project Life. But I did get some time to work on a February monthly page for 2021 and would love for you to check it out! You can see the process for this album so far at this link: Project Life 2021. Follow along with my process video today.
Recently I re-organized my Elle’s Studio cards so they are in rainbow order by color, and it has changed how I store and use my kits! I have known for a long time that scrapbooking by colors is especially fun for me, and having products organized that way levels the process right up! For this layout, I knew that I would have some photos from Valentine’s Day, so I knew there would be red hearts (puffy stickers, of course!) but I also knew I would want supporting colors on the layout too. The title card I wanted to use was pink and red, and there always are cards that combine several colors. Those have their own special stack, so I started there to select cards that would bring in fun, bright, happy colors.
I really liked the pink, red and green floral card that says Love This, and that became the color palette for the page. Once your colors are set, the decisions from there are pretty easy! I needed room for journaling on this layout, and so I decided to incorporate all the circles on my photos so I’d have more room. This felt like a very Ali Edwards thing to do, and it does look really fun across the page. Some of our stories for this month included the faucet in the kitchen going out, Nick needing to go to school for an exam, donuts for Valentine’s Day, and a bit of freezing rain. Sounds about right for a February. Also, notice my date error? Haha. I totally got years mixed up and didn’t even realize it until I was photographing the layout!
A couple of other details from this layout include the line stamp from Elle’s Studio with the dotted lines ending with hearts. I always LOVE line stamps! I used this one across the layout just to bring in a few more hearts. It also shows up on the far right, in the purple strip going across the February Highlights card. I love finding different ways to include the same graphic.
That is all I have for you today! Thank you so much for stopping by.
