Project Life 2019 | September Bi Monthly Layout 02
Hello Lovelies and welcome back to my 2019 Project Life album. Today I am sharing my second bi-monthly layout for September with you, using my Studio Calico Documenter Kits. This album is week by week coming to a close, I think there are only a few layouts for November left to go! So follow along my process with me!
So you guys, there is a (fatal haha) error on this page, can you figure it out?! I already did the first bi-monthly layout for September, but for some reason my brain went on vacation and I stamped the dates for the first half of the month! Ha! I will probably go back and fix it at the end of the album, when I am ready to tie up loose ends and put it on the shelf. I really liked this Oh Yeah card too! But oh well, I thought you all could laugh with me at my mistake, and see that it isn’t the end of the world.
The title card and the 3×4 card below it really set the tone for my layout here, and the colors for this layout all come from here. I really loved how muted this layout turned out, it’s soothing and pretty!
We were still working on the yard project, pulling out old foliage and putting in new mulch! We also had a bee friend show up needing a bit of help. We have a little wooden sheep on our front porch and one day we walked outside to find him perched on the sheep looking very sickly. I never knew bees could look grey before. So we made up a bit of sugar water and lightly poured it into the grooves of the bee, and when it reached him he slurped it down. A little while later he was able to fly away, so I hope he is doing ok now. I’m so glad to be able to include him in our album!
I had some wooden pieces from Pink Paislee just lying on my desk from putting away other collections, so I used a few of those such as the word Loved on my photo of myself. I then layered a word strip as well. Another favorite story of late is how Nico has been settling in our laps any time someone sits down on the floor. I grabbed this quick photo of Natalie with her game, and him in her lap. Such fond memories!
The right side is more great stories from this time in our life. One day Alan found the dog sleeping on the sofa and was carrying Zoe, so he thought it would be funny to lay them together. Surprisingly, they both stayed and took naps together, and it was so cute. This is life, you guys, napping side by side with your worst enemy. Ha! We also ordered the alien costume for Natalie, and had the most hilarious time trying to put it on her. She didn’t end up wearing it because she felt like it was choking her around her neck, but we laughed so much it was worth every penny!
I also had a photo of the wall behind the counter at the Kate Spade outlet, which was such fun story telling! I added that to my page, along with another story about how my alma mater, Meredith College, honored the Honorable Ruth Ginsberg. I printed a screenshot from the MC Facebook page showing her and the president of the college and a short description of what was happening. I didn’t personally get to attend, but I did watch the Livestream and was just astounded at the wisdom this incredible woman gave to us.
I loved how this marbled card turned out. I wanted to be able to journal on it as well, so I cut down a different card and turned it sideways so I could use the stripe as a divider on the card. I then added my journaling plus the word strip. Perfect!
I have a long-standing habit of using favorites: favorite products, favorite colors, favorite clothing, and I loved this card that included opportunities to journal several favorites! I trimmed down one of the photos of Natalie being abducted by the alien, and then added a few words to complete the card. You can also see another wooden piece, the round circle with the punched heart, that I layered another word strip. This is just a simple way to repeat elements across the page.
And one more time, layering word strip over wooden piece.
As always, such a fun layout and I am both excited and saddened to see this album coming to completion! It’s awesome and bittersweet at the same time! Ha! Thank you so much for joining me on this adventure this week. See you again soon!
