Larkindesign Disney 2020 Album | Documenting Our Drive | Ft Elle's Studio Magical Memories

Hello Lovelies and welcome back to our Disney 2020 vacation album! Today’s story is all about driving to the magic with a 13-hour drive to Orlando from our home in NC. I am working with some of the Elle’s Studio Magical Memories collection, so come along with us! It’s loud and we have a bit of a drive, but there are snacks and plenty of bathroom breaks. We worked out the schedule so we could leave right after opening Christmas presents on Christmas Day, which meant splitting the drive up in two phases. We stayed overnight at our favorite city, Savannah, GA, right on the historic riverfront! I had several photos from our time in Savannah, along with other photos that help to tell this story, including our packed bags and the Disney arch in Orlando when we arrived!

I began my layout as always with this fun title card, which serves to let readers know what is going on in this layout. I built my title using some black puffy alphabets from Elle’s Studio, along with a stamp from Ali Edwards Magic story kit and a word strip. I layered all of these on top of the card from Elle’s Studio with the circle bits, which will be repeated again across the layout. I also added an acrylic metallic star, from Elle’s Studio. Underneath is a journal card from Emily Merritt’s Project 52 Rad edition for Project Life, and the sequin pocket I created earlier.

Whenever the six of us travel it always cracks me up how much luggage it requires! We packed for 8 days and I am sure that there were things forgotten, but I love the story this photo tells. All the luggage lined up at the door, ready to be jammed into the car, so much anticipation! I stamped a simple word sentiment from In A Creative Bubble for Studio Calico onto the photo and added another acrylic piece over top.

The hotel we stayed at in Savannah was the Homewood Suites, and it has a really cool rooftop bar! We went up there to see what it was all about, and found a really pretty swimming pool up there, and this adorable little igloo! It was all set up with heat inside, and some cute little chairs and books to get comfortable in. We didn’t stay long but did take a few really cute photos. I added journaling on the diagonal on the pink card from Elle’s Studio and you can see the circle bit repeated there in wood grain.

For the right hand side of my layout I had more photos from Savannah, including our favorite candy store, the riverfront, and the famous arch in Orlando. I commented in the process video that the colors from my photos were more primary colors, while the 3×4 cards from Elle’s Studio felt a bit more pastel, so I pulled in a few from the Emily Merritt Project Life kit. I love these pages!

One of my favorite things about our photos were the hints of Christmas you can see. The street light on the riverfront has its Christmas decoration still there, there’s a Christmas tree on the sidewalk, and I think that makes it so fun! Going to Disney is the best Christmas present ever.

I had a random acrylic word MAGIC in my stash, no idea where it came from or how long I have had it, so I layered that on top of the black and white card. Also check out the photo of my suitcase: I have Mickey ears, clothes, and a CAT. I am all set.

I loved this mint colored heart card, and it didn’t need much so I ended up stamping the word sentiment and the star inside the white space. For the photo of the arch, I added a blue label and cut out some of the word art from a patterned paper to create my own embellishment. I also added a red star, no idea of its origins.

The last card is a journal card from Emily Merritt that I only added words to, no embellishments. I am treating the journaling in this album like one continuous story, so the journaling will flow from page to page. My journaling on that card is a nod to our evening once we arrived, which will be seen once the reader turns the page.
