Project Life 2019 | Beginning and Ending Pages Ft Studio Calico High Five
Hello Lovelies and welcome back to the final process video in my 2019 Project Life album! I will be sharing a full 2019 Project Life album flip thru next week, and you can see all the videos in this series via this link here: Larkindesign 2019 Project Life. Today I am sharing the Beginning and Ending pages with you, so have a look here.
Starting with the Beginning Page:
When I began this project I opened the album with a fun pocket page that were all 3×3. This page was created for the Clique Kits design team and you can see more about that process here: 2019 Project Life Introduction. So I already had a fun opening page but it also left the pockets underneath available. True confession, I left this page blank all year while I worked on the rest of the album, and knew I would go back at the end and finish it up. I am so glad I did, because deciding what to put there just came to me and in the end it only took about an hour to pull these two layouts together! Win win!
I decided the beginning and ending pages should be favorite memories from the year, so I chose this photo from the beach trip we took earlier in the year to the Outer Banks of NC. I used the Print To Pocket Action No 02 to print this photo. The Action brings your photo into the template and then breaks it apart into 4×6 pieces to make it easier to print. I also added the digital element from Ali Edwards at the bottom, that was from the Heart Story Kit, the 2019 using a Text box in Photoshop, and the rainbow puffy sticker from Elle’s Studio.
Now for the Final Page:
This page also features an enlarged photo combined with some journaling cards from the Studio Calico High Five Documenter Kit. I felt like we entered the new year with such hope and magic, so I used rainbows and colorful cards to bring that into my layout.
This time I printed the photo to 6×12, still using the Print To Pocket Action. I did end up reprinting this photo so that no one’s heads were cut off, and that meant in the top pocket I had to extend the sky a bit. In Photoshop I duplicated that Layer and then slid the bottom Layer up to cover the blank space left on the photo. I used my Blur tool to blend the two back together and the sky looks great now.
I also used the Studio Calico stamp to stamp directly onto my photo, and then added just the tiniest red star to the center. And look, no one’s heads are cut up! Ha! Most of the elements and cards from this page are from the Studio Calico High Five Documenter Kit, which had great colors and offered the journaling spaces I wanted for this page.
For the title card, I cut up on of the 3×4 cards so I could use the label, and then I layered that on top of the colorful 4×6 card. I then added a tiny chipboard piece for a bit of dimension. I love the rainbow card underneath it, because every page needs rainbows. It also represents some of the mood I wanted to bring into our new year.
I especially loved this 4×6 journal card at the bottom, because it allowed me to reflect on what got us through last year, and what we take with us for the new year – HOPE. In the process video you heard me talk about some tips for journaling these pages from right before the pandemic began. Journal from where you were at that time, allow yourself to live in those moments and cherish those moments as they were! I am so incredibly thankful for the year we had last year, for all that we learned, and for the comfort we found in each other. Thank you so much for following along today, see you again soon!
