Disney 2020 Documenting Epcot | Adventures of the Skyliners
Hello Lovelies and welcome back to our Disney 2020 Album Project! In this series I am creating our Disney Scrapbook Album in the Project Life style, and today we are hopping over to Epcot via the SKYLINERS! These are a brand new attraction at the parks, and we were so excited to hop on and see what it was all about. Well, some of us more than others. Today I am sharing this layout that expresses my dislike of the Skyliners in a fun yet sarcastic way! If you’d like to see all of our Disney adventures, check out the link here: Larkindesign Disney 2020 Album Project. Want to learn more about documenting these special memories? I have used Project Mouse yet again in this layout, because there are several collections that help document rides and attractions. All of the Project Mouse collections are perfect for Disney Scrapbook Albums, which can make it difficult to decide! The two kits I am using are the Project Mouse Boardwalk Bundle and Project Mouse Bundle No. 04 Day At The Park (specifically Rides & Attractions). These collections mostly highlight the rides we love, so I did a little bit of creative editing to tell this story.
Full disclosure: rides are not really my thing. I am not a fan of heights or things that go fast and definitely not things that spin in circles. One of the reasons I love Disney is because so many of the rides are slow and predictable, you know, for the less-adventurous like me. But I did want to see how the Skyliners were, and I did ok on the first leg. Turns out that the Skyliner is the best way to get from Art of Animation to Epcot, but you still have to disembark at the central station, and then you take the second leg to Epcot. Well, on the second leg the ride stops at the highest point! And I was fine until that stop, and that unnerved me and I was done after that.
So what I did was I added some words to existing cards so they would say what I wanted them to say. The title card was great, and I used Elle’s Studio alphabet stamps to add the words So Not, so the card now reads So Not Awesome. Ha.
I printed out a photo of the Skyliners I had taken at Hollywood Studios, at 6×8, so it features prominently on the page. At the bottom of the photo I added the label and used stamps from Citrus Twist plus alphabet stickers from Ali Edwards to create the sentiment I wanted.
I really liked the scripted yellow card with the quote from Walt Disney, especially the last line about being brave. Or not brave, depending on who you are. I added my journaling to the journal card below, which is from Project Mouse Bundle No 01 Basics. That is probably my most-used card from all Project Mouse collections!
Now the kids loved the Skyliners! Look how cute Emberlynn is riding high! They rode these things back and forth all day, although Nick got a little freaked out when he rode back to the hotel and said he got on one with another couple who had gotten stuck on the ride earlier in the day for like 45 minutes!!!
The Boardwalk collection has several gondolas included in the elements and on this 3×4 card. It’s a bit different than Epcot because it was designed for the California Adventure ferris wheel, but I still used it and made it my own. I laughed at the choice of stationary or swinging, and stamped the word Neither?!! I also added the words Umm No! to the Riding High card below. Those are Elle’s Studio puffy Alphabet stickers.
You can see my expression above, as Alan is trying to distract me and make me laugh. The 3×4 cards above were also fun to make, with more sarcasm and laughs to go around.
Last card, where I added puffy alphabets and a V stamp to make it read This is NOT what fun looks like! To me! How fun! What a great way to document something that wasn’t my favorite, while keeping a sense of humor and creating laughs. Thanks for joining me today! See you again soon!
