Hello friends! Welcome back to the blog (with its brand new name)! Today I am sharing a self care layout I created in a new project album. I don’t have a name for this new project album just yet, and the start of it came about rather serendipitously, so let’s go! If you’d like to see similar projects I have done in the past, check this link: Things I Need To Hear.
This layout began after a casual conversation with my great friend, Meg Gundlach, who was talking about starting a new project in 6×12 format. As she was talking about that, I realized I had a layout sitting on my computer that I was trying to figure out in Photoshop. Elif Sahin of Sahin Designs had just released Untold Stories, and I was wanting to create my layout using her collection! I decided to create a new 6×12 album myself, and this is the first layout in that project.
I took these photos several months ago in the Instagram app, using one of their filters. For my layout I added the resulting filtered photo into my page twice, once on the upper left and once on the lower right. I used one of the patterned papers from the collection as my background paper, and then I layered my journaling over top of all of that. I printed the whole thing out, and then layered just a few of the die cut elements on top. I had these cute rainbow planner rings from MAMBI, and decided this would be the perfect project for them. To bring the whole album together, I pulled some very old Cropper Hopper dividers from way back in 2010 and cut one in half. Punched all the little holes for the rings, and then it was a new album!
I am excited about this new project and feel good about having a place to document some of the things that don’t really fit in anywhere else. See you again soon!
