December Daily 2019 | Days 21 and 22
Hello friends! Today I am continuing with my 2019 December Daily project. This album is so close to being finished, and it has been awesome to see another year come to life. This is the second year I have completed my album later in the year, and I have to tell you that the magic continues with this project, even when you have to set it down for a while! I have been participating in #donebydecember, which is a campaign created by the Ali Edwards design team members to inspire us all to finish our past albums before we begin our 2020 albums. So for today, check out my process for Days 21 and 22!
I have had these kraft tags from Ali Edwards for a few years now and never used them! I felt like they would look really pretty layered over this patterned paper from Pink Paislee, so this was my starting point. I imagined that those number stamps would be so pretty embossed in red over top of the kraft tags, and this was a great choice! The only thing is that the red embossing powder I used was a bit brighter than the red of the patterned paper. Oops! So that’s ok, I moved the embossed tag over to the other side and then chose a second tag to layer over my insert. Happy accidents, right? Our story for this day was about how much fun Alan and I were having, planning and creating our Christmas tree this year so we took a photo in front of the tree. I added just a few tiny puffy stickers and this layout is complete.
For Day 22, my starting point was this fun 2×2 pocket page I created earlier with all the stars. My photo was of my Target cart as we were Christmas shopping, but the photo felt a bit bright. I think printing it saturated those colors a bit more than I expected. I wanted to put my title over the photo, so I cut a bit of vellum as an overlay, and then adhered my title with the puffy alphabets from previous Ali Edwards kits. Remember the kraft tag from the previous day? I backed that with a grey journal card, which echoes the grey felt star on the other side. And then notice how cute it looks over top of the journal card behind it? That is how you leverage your cards to do double duty! Ha! My journaling goes on the December Memories card, easy peasy. One last detail is the tiny red star I added to the 2x2s and I also changed out the 23 to 22.
These pages come together so beautifully, even almost a year later! I hope you are inspired to finish up your albums! See you again soon!
