I’m Maribeth Lysen & you can find me on Instagram at @maribethlysen Today I wanted to share an Introduction page in my Light The Path project. To see more of the work the Design Team is doing with this project, check out this link: Light The Path Design Team.
I’m honored to be working with Theresa on her 2021 Light the Path Design team! 2020 was a wild year and I’m hoping for more ease, more connection, and to go deeper with my documenting in 2021. Light the Path (LTP) is the perfect workshop to help me meet those goals. LTP is a community full of fellow Lightbearers who are all working together to support and encourage each other on a path of self discovery, healing, and authenticity through art and writing as we engage with our ourselves.
Like a lot of memory keepers, I started scrapbooking as a child, gluing things into the old-school sticky photo albums so common in the 80’s. I moved away from it in late high school and college but I wish I’d stuck with it. I’d give anything to have those memories now. I dabbled here and there in the subsequent years, often making baby books for friends, but didn’t document much in my own life. After a divorce and a move halfway across the country, I discovered Project Life in late 2012 and dived-in feet first in January 2013. I’ve been documenting ever since.
I realized that documenting my life helped me see the joy. That even if my life didn’t turn out how I thought it would, that I didn’t have children, and wasn’t happily married, I had a lot to be grateful for. The life I did have was worth embracing with my whole heart. I’ve been an advocate for scrapbooking, for encouraging everyone, but especially other women, to tell their stories ever since.
Now I live in Dallas/Fort-Worth Texas area and recently took a huge leap of faith and got married again in December 2020. I live with my husband, my stepson, and my pug-terrier mix Jack. I work in the hospitality industry supporting art and culture organizations and I adore my job. In addition to scrapbooking, I’m a big fan of pretty stationary, meditation, and I’ve started dabbling in digital planning and drawing on my iPad.
I hope you will join us for Light The Path in 2021! Learn more here: Light The Path Creative Workshop. I can’t wait to see what you create!
