Light The Path Design Team Ashley Krueger | October 2021 My Power
Hi friends! Time for me to share one of my projects from the October Light the Path prompts. Fall is officially here and I love that this month’s kit, designed by Mandy Ford, has such a great fall feel to it. Those colors and elements were a big jumping off point and carried throughout my pages this month. Today, I am sharing the page I made inspired by the photography prompt using the kit designed by Mandy.
This month we spent a few days focusing on meditation and journaling paired with photos of our selves. During one of these days, my journaling help me realize areas of great personal growth. Those emotions were powerful and I felt it was a better representation of the moment and I took a different photo. It’s not the best photo but it’s the truest photo. That photo and journaling were the jumping off point for this page.
I started with a lined cardstock page that came with my Simple Stories album. Then I used the 3×4 cards, and frame and tag embellishments from the kit to layer under my photo. Next, I wrote out journaling based on what I was journaling in the photo on a torn paper that I layered under the photo cluster as well.
For the embellishments, I started with three washi tapes from my stash that I layered at the top and bottom of the page. Next, I used the word strips from the digital kit to make a title for my page. Altogether, it reads “I get to redefine, shift, reframe, claim my power.” This correlates with my journaling about my emotions being a tool in my healing. Lastly, I felt the page needed a few more touches of black to tie in with journaling and darker washi. I used the pink gridded tab from the digital embellishments to add the date. Then used a few leaf stickers to finish it all up.
Thank you for checking out my project this month. While each month has been a great tool in my healing process, the meditation and journaling practice was huge for me. Paired with my regular counseling, as a creative, it really helped me to connect some crucial dots. I hope you consider joining us and seeing how Light The Path impact your own healing path.
