Light The Path December 2021 Prompt Previews
Hi everyone and welcome back to our monthly Light The Path Prompt Previews. Light The Path is our annual creative workshop designed to help you document a year of healing, and what a year it has been in this project! This month is our final month of the workshop, after two really incredible years we are retiring the workshop as it is now and will be shifting our focus on this site towards other creative classes and products! It is an exciting transition, but first, we wanted to finish out December with a huge note of gratitude.
Light The Path grew out of my own personal healing journey. I wanted to incorporate creative practices of scrapbooking, photography, and art journaling into a healing project that would provide space to process. This project has allowed me and our survivor friends to not only document a year of healing, but also to discover some really amazing things about ourselves. It’s cliche to say that trauma makes us stronger, and also highly inaccurate, BUT the healing reveals about ourselves how incredible we are as humans. We survived, we made it through, and we are still showing up with hope and love.
I want to thank each and every person who has been involved in this project in some way. Ashley Easter and Donna Downey both have mentored me and gave this project a stamp of approval from both the creative community and the advocacy/survivor community. Thank you. To our designers: you gave us very special products that aren’t anywhere else in the scrapbooking world. You poured your heart into each brush stroke and mouse click, and for that I am truly grateful. To our Light Bearers: thank you for trusting me with your stories and your sacred experiences. Walking this journey with you has been an honor that I hold very close to my heart. I hope that you take from this project a sense of your amazing-ness that nothing can ever take away from you. To our friends and supporters: thank you. This project has changed my life, and I hope it has helped others too.
Our prompt for December is The Greatest Gift. This one is intended to be a bit more light-hearted, a fun way to wrap up this project that at times, is really hard work. Healing doesn’t always have to be hard work, there are moments we are allowed to be extremely proud and thrilled with ourselves for who we are, and this is that moment. Our designer is Allison Pennington, who has done quite a few collections for us! We love working with her, and adore her beautiful products. Thank you, Allison.
You can see her bright color palette – I will tell you I went through an entire magenta ink cartridge on my printer and it was all worth it! The art work is adorable, with trees and snow flakes and beautiful presents that you will want to put under your tree. Lots of journaling space and lots of opportunities to sum up the year, and also to look ahead into the future with plans, dreams, and goals.
Our design team has more to share with you, so you will continue to see their work on the blog into January, before we transition into our new focus! The last day to sign up for the monthly payment, and receive this kit, is December 15, 2021. At that time, the monthly payment cart will close for good. We are planning to put the workshop year-long product on sale until the end of the year, and then we will close it out altogether. Even though endings are sad, please know that so many amazing things are planned and are being worked on behind the scenes! This is an exciting pivot, and closing out LTP is a really big sign of healing. Thank you again, see you back here again soon!
