December Daily 2021 | Days 07 Thru 09
Hello and welcome back to my December Daily 2021! Today I have Days 07 through 09 to share, and some really great stories being told in these pages! I took a few days off over the weekend to work on other things and to just enjoy December a little bit, and being back in this album was so much fun. I think you will enjoy today’s content, if you’d like to see more from this album check out the link: December Daily Album 2021.
Day 07 | This Story Has My Heart
For this page I had the back of the paper tree page for Day 06, and once I had my photos printed for a few days I decided to move a few things around. This story is actually from the 8th, but it fit better in the album right here. I also was going to make the vellum pocket independent in the album binder, but I decided to adhere the entire layout to the back of this page. This was a great decision! I printed my photo at 5″x8.25″, adhered it down, and then glued down the pocket. The cork 7 (Ali Edwards + Studio Calico) was a great addition and it gave me the chance to use the cork hearts from the December Daily Main Kit!
My story for this page was about how our mornings find our girls hanging out right here, waiting to hop into the car to school. They sit here laughing, chatting on their phones, getting snacks, and it always makes me happy to see them here. For my journaling I wrote a bit about this and about how I hope they take comfort and joy with them each day.
Day 08 | Epic Story
For Day 08 I had one of the funniest stories – and situations – for December Daily ever! Ha! Alan and I went out to dinner and afterwards he said he found a little shop around the corner that we needed to visit. So we did, and it turned out to be Kilwin’s, a little chocolate shop and a magical little place filled with so many amazing delicious treats! We purchased a few things, came home, and opened the fudge. They had included the cutest little wooden kn*fe in the box! Of course I had to hang onto that and put it here in my layout! But I have never tried to incorporate something like this. Here’s what I came up with.
I decided to include two 4×6 photos plus two 4×6 journaling cards (Ali Edwards) along with the red plaid transparency. The idea came to me to make it like a file holder on your desk in your office, where the photos and cards are stacked and the tabs show across the top. I took a 8×10 page protector and cut/stitched my own pockets to make this happen. First I measured and cut the pockets and then I stitched them on my sewing machine (you could use your Fuse tool if you wanted). The transparency looks beautiful next to the cards and photos! I also added the little number 1 and 2 to the journal cards, so the reader can follow the two stories of this day.
Day 09 | The Papers
For this day, I had the back of the photos for Kilwin’s, and this provided a great spot for little pieces of our wrapping paper. We have been wrapping a little bit in the evenings when we have the energy, and this year I wanted to include actual pieces of our papers! So I cut and folded them to look sort of like the wrapped presents and adhered the pieces to the back of the photos and journaling cards. They made this cute little stacked set!
We also found these cute tags from Homegoods, so I stole one to use here as a journaling card. The number 9 is from Colorcast Designs from last year. On the back, I added part of an Ali Edwards shipping tag – I left the top of the kraft tag as it was because the hole had a cute little grommet in it with the twine. The 9 threaded through that perfectly! I also stamped my lines (Elle’s Studio dotted line) and added a few strips of washi tape to the tag.
That is all for today, thank you for joining me! I hope you are creating some wonderful memories, having a few laughs along the way, and making time for your creativity this season. See you back here again soon.
