Larkindecember | December Daily Album 2017 Days 06 & 07
Hi everyone! Ah so yesterday I wasn’t able to get my video for Day 06 uploaded in time to share and blog, so I am posting it today and will share Day 07 today as well! Is it just me or are the days going by faster and faster as the month goes by?!!?!
So this is my process video for Day 06 in my 2017 December Daily album. Day 06 was a good day for me but in the afternoon it became obvious to me that I needed to practice a little self-care, step away from the world, and have some down time. That is my story for this day, and my layout is based on products and inspiration from Ali Edwards’ Day 06 as well.
Here is the foundation page for Day 06. I have used Ali Edwards and Paislee Press 2017 kits for this layout.
The story for this layout is one of self care. In the afternoon I realized I had a deep pit in my stomach so I shut everything off and spent some downtime with Alan. Living with PTSD and working through recovery is like that – I am learning to recognize that pit in my stomach feeling. That usually means new awareness is coming, and that I need to take some time to process.
For the layout, I wrote a letter to myself. Reflection is always good for the soul, and this is a good time to acknowledge the huge learning curve I have faced this year. I have had to learn and acknowledge many things about myself that no one should ever have to recognize, things that happened to me and ways I had learned (unhealthy ways) to cope.
I added my text to a bracket cut file from Echo Park, which is an old one from the Silhouette shop. I cut it out using the Silhouette, and added the tiny washi tape, then punched it and placed it into the album. Tomorrow I will place my patterned paper onto the back of that bracket for Day 07.
Up next is the process video for Day 07 in my 2017 December Daily album! My foundation pages were created using Pinkfresh Studio and I am so loving how it turned out.
Here is a look at Day 07 foundation page:
The completed layout here:
This was such a fun, happy layout of our annual date day to do Christmas shopping. This is seriously my favorite day of the year, I think! We have so much fun filling the trunk, goofing off in the stores, and most importantly bringing our children the joy and magic. Oh it is so, SO GOOD!
For this layout I used the patterned paper from Pinkfresh Studio as the base for the title page. I used foam letters from Felicity Jane Joy kit and placed them purposely like that! My photos are printed using photo templates from Paislee Press, called Pocket Guides No. 04 and 08 (link opens in new window). Here is the layout outside of the album.
Thank you for joining me today! Merry December!

Theresa, that letter to yourself is so thoughtful and profound. As someone who has suffered deep trauma as a child, I have found the path to self care to be incredibly rocky, with many twists and turns, and backward steps. But then I read something like your letter, and I realise that I am not alone, and that I am not a failure, and to take one more step towards the light.
