IMP Design Team Melinda Staley | Puzzle Night
Melinda here today showing off my second page for June. The dotted patterns and the primary colors of The Practical Scrapper Summer Break kit were giving me Disney vibes, so I decided to make a page about working our latest Disney puzzle.
I picked a stitched grid template with 12 3×4 vertical pockets, and since I knew I wanted central 4×6 pocket to place the title I masked out the stitching in the middle and combined the two card masks to make one pocket space. I added the dotted card for my title space and placed my photos, again masking out the stitching and combining the mats of the two bottom right pockets to make a larger space for my final photo of the completed puzzle.
When I was paper scrapbooking, I loved all of the chunky bits and textures I could add to my pages, though my albums were not always as fond of them. I do still love the look of texture on my pages, even if it is only an illusion essentially. Since this page is all about the Mouse, I made a mouse head icon by cutting the round ends of the music notes from the card and adding a large epoxy dot for the head.
I cut the rainbow tag out of the card with the tag trio and the aqua curvy arrow to use them as separate elements. -I used Stylin’ 193 Acrylic by Mommyish to make my title words and accent pieces, some selected from cards in the kit, into acrylic for a bit of digital texture. For some final touches I I added a small twine bow and striped washi tape from Project Mouse Vibes, and I shortened a label from the Summer Break kit to fit day and month ‘stamp’ better.
I hope your summer is going well and you are getting in some relaxing as well as fun and adventures! See you next time back here on the blog.
