Epic October Daily 2021 Share | Days 01 Thru 03
Hi friends and welcome back to my 2021 October Daily! Today I have a major share for you of Days 01 thru 03 in this album. I had no idea I had this many photos to show you, plus as always I have a full process video for you, so I hope you can sit back and take it all in for a few moments today. I am having so much fun with this project and with this album and all the fun details! To follow along with all the fun of this project, keep an eye on this link: October Daily 2021. So let’s dive in!
I decided to begin my album with a pretty simple start: a full page photo and a few things layered on top. The page lifter in the scrapbook.com album needed an embellishment, right, so I added a very easy banner and word art from Simple Stories Happy Haunting. At the bottom, I added the year using some December Daily puffy numbers from Ali Edwards. Yep, some of my December Daily products are somehow finding their way into this album too!
Underneath the page lifter I added that cool bird transparency I had from Allison Kreft for Webster’s Pages. When I cut it, I cut it strategically in half so that I can use it somewhere else, plus I have two 4×6 pieces left as well that can be used in a pocket page. I had these cool orange vellum numbers from Studio Calico, and they layered really nicely on top of this transparency. I also stamped Happy Halloween at the very bottom of the number 3. This page allows the first photo to peek through underneath!
For Day 01 then, I used a full page photo of our cat Zoe, peeking around the corner on the stair. She was waiting for dinner, I’m sure, but I added the Tim Holtz spider web and hung the spider as if Zoe is eyeing him. At the bottom I added the number 1, also from Time Holtz, and then I stamped the sentiment from Heidi Swapp beside the number. A couple of puffy bats found their way onto this page too! And then I wrote out my journaling on the lower right, over top of the steps.
For my Day 02, I decided to create a pocket on the back side of Day 01’s photo. My photo + story are about our plate rack, which I had the best time decorating this year! I added spooky potion bottles and pumpkins, fun twinkle lights and the paper bats on the wall. Of course I kept some of the paper bats and wanted to incorporate them into the page, which is why I made the pocket. The mid-size bat makes the perfect edge for my vellum pocket. As the base for the pocket, I used the star patterned paper from Crate Paper All Heart. I then cut the vellum around the bat and sewed all the way around all three elements. This turned out perfect! My photo is printed using a very simple template from Liz Tamanaha of Paislee Press. The tag is a cut apart from Simple Stories Spooky Nights. I also added a few chipboard stars from Studio Calico, and the number is from Tim Holtz.
Day 03 directly faces Day 02, and I decided to create a flip out 4×8 page for this story. Our story was about going to the @ Home store and venturing into the Christmas section. This is the look Alan gave me as we wandered down the candy cane aisle. It seriously made me laugh so loud because it was like alllllll the candy canes moved in there! Ali Edwards did several of these types of pages in her December Daily last year, where she attached transparencies to a photo or a pocket. I’ve used one of her star transparencies and attached a photo on one side, and journaling on the other side. For now I am leaving it folded in, simply because I love how the words I attached to the transparency show on top of Alan’s photo.
