Hi friends, today I am up on the Clique Kits blog with a process video and I decided to create a fall themed art journal collage page. I am working with the Rainbow Sherbet Chromatics kit, which provided beautiful shades of orange, yellow and red, perfect for fall. If you’d like to see similar pages like this, check out my link: Art Journals. Follow along with my process below.
I love this size notebook for my art journal, because it gives a bit of real estate on the page to add all the things. I started with a page that had already been prepped with bits of washi tape and gesso. I cut apart one of the patterned papers into two pieces and adhered one on each side, somewhat mirroring each other. Then I started tucking little pieces here and there along that line and branching out into the page. For my title, I cut out one of the phrases on the cut-apart sheet so it says Do more of what you love. Perfect!
My photo is a black and white that my husband snapped of me recently while we were visiting an aquarium. The original photo is very blue so I made it black and white and I feel like that makes it contrast with all the rich colors around it. That becomes the focal point of the right side, and again lots of bits and pieces tucked around it. As a last touch I stamped the circles and word sentiments around the page. Stamp sets are from Studio Calico.
All in all a very fun layout and I hope you are inspired to make an art journal collage too! See you again soon.
