Clique Kits Creative Team | 12×12 Scrapbook Layout With Pinkfresh Studio Delightful Sampler Kit
Hi friends and welcome back to my channel! Today I have a 12×12 scrapbook layout to share for the Clique Kits Creative Team! I am working with the Pinkfresh Studio Delightful Sampler Kit and I also brought in some of my embroidery floss I’ve had in my stash. This is a great tutorial if you want to learn how to sew cross stitch for beginners! This Sampler Kit is sold out but here are the current Pinkfresh Studio products in the Clique Kits store. You can see more layouts similar to this one at this link: Kids Albums Projects.
This project was inspired by the background patterned paper which I loved for the colorful circle the leaves form around the page. It seemed like it would be fun to build embellishment clusters with the cut apart word strips, layering color upon color and creating the focal point with the photo in the center. Recently I rediscovered my embroidery floss so I thought I would make a point to use those on this layout in a way that wouldn’t bother my hands. I absolutely love stitching on layouts but some of them are really time consuming – and a bit overwhelming to me – so I have always stayed away in the past. For this layout I decided to come up with a few ways to use the floss quickly and easily and I think I’ve accomplished that! Here are the ways I used the embroidery floss on this layout:
- On each word strip I added a very simple cross stitch using the color floss that corresponds to the color on the page. I then popped them up with foam tape and added more die cuts around the page.
- I wasn’t planning to do this, but it just seemed fun to try to wrap the floss around the frame over top of the photo! I used the same rainbow palette and left the bottom half of the frame as is. So cute!
- One of the easiest ways to incorporate floss without sewing at all is to tie a bit around your tag. I threaded it through the hole in the tag a few times and tied it with the bow. So easy!
Just a few more fun details from this layout: the kit included selections of the chipboard pieces, the puffy stickers, and the die cuts from the Delightful collection. The vellum leaves were perfect to add on top of the background paper! I have them reaching further into the center of the layout, pointing to the photo so that everything on the page points inward towards the photo. The wax seals were also a fun element to add more color and also help bring the circle on the page together. My favorite elements were also the gorgeous vellum butterflies. I added those all going in the same direction which created a bit of tension in the page design.
The last detail is my journaling, which I added to the right hand side to create the focal point on the page. I used a line stamp I had in my stash from Studio Calico. I also brought in a roller stamp from Paige Evans to add tiny stitches and hearts stamped around the page with the embellishment clusters.
Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope you are inspired to use this kit and also try stitching on your page! See you again soon.
