Travelers Notebook Layout | Man In Plaid ft Elles Studio

Hi friends, Theresa here with a super fun and easy travelers notebook layout celebrating PLAID! My favorite thing about creating in a smaller album like this is that it helps me tell more of the fun stories, and one of my favorite trends right now is plaid: plaid blankets, sweaters, hoodies, pillows, dinnerware, I am loving it all. The best part about this page is how easy it is to create and you can create this over and over again using different stories, different products, different photos. If you’d like to see other travelers notebook layouts from me, check out this link: Travelers Notebook Layouts. I have a fun process video, watch here!

My starting point, aside from the awesome plaid, was supplies. I’ve been a subscriber to Elles Studio for a few years now, and my favorite part is the labels. And the stamps. Oh, and the papers. Definitely the colors. And the rainbows! You get the idea. I’m not affiliated with Elles Studio, but you can subscribe to their kits and shop with them right here: Elles Studio Shop. For real though, the best part about their kits is the labels and die cuts. I always break them up and sort them by color, which serves to organize my stash but also generates some layout ideas at the same time! You can see these are the die cuts from just one month!

This layout accomplishes two things from a supply standpoint. First, it helps me use die cuts that are already pre-made! The hearts are so cute exactly as they are, and adhered to the vellum made for the easiest page ever. You can do this over and over again, layer it onto patterned paper, use other shapes and labels, use stamped images, there are so many ways to do this it’s endless. I chose to adhere these hearts to vellum and slid them into my full page pocket for the right side of the layout. I added five simple bullet points as my journaling. The number stickers are old Heidi Swapp planner stickers.

Second, this layout helped me use tools such as stamps and dies to create a super fun title! These Jane dies are perfectly magical, and the Jane heart stamps are the perfect match. They make for the easiest title, which on this layout are a play on words. Instead of Men In Black, I wrote Man In Plaid. The bigger story behind this page is about how all the men in our house are loving these plaid hoodies, including my husband Alan. And they are so warm and cuddly in them, I am just eating it up.

And this is actually the main story: writing about the warmth I experience in our relationship together. Did you know that your photos can often generate 4 or 5 stories from just one photo? And sometimes it’s hard to pick just one story to tell! So tell them all! Using product in this way is a great way to help tell all the stories. The photo is also a main character in the story telling. Notice how I added the title below our faces, so our faces are still prominent in the layout.

So much goodness in this one page! I hope you are inspired to create a fun page today telling a story about a favorite trend, using some fun products that you have in your stash! See you again soon!
