Travelers Notebook Layout by Theresa Moxley | You Shine Ft Studio Calico New Chapter

Hi friends and welcome back! Today I wanted to share my second travelers notebook layout from my Life Crafted albums with you. I forgot how much I love this smaller size, and how fun it is to just create for the fun of it. I call these affirmation pages, in the sense that they allow me to include a selfie and incorporate a sentiment/reminder to myself coming from wherever I am at that time. So that is where today’s layout started, follow along with me below! If you’d like to see more of this cute little album project, check out this link: Theresa Moxley Travelers Notebooks.

My product choices for this layout stemmed from my Studio Calico travelers notebook subscription. This month’s kit was called New Chapter, and I also added a few of the add-ons. You will also notice that I cut the notebook they provide apart and mix up the papers! What really made me pull up to my work desk was these beautiful transparency butterflies! I knew they would make a pretty page, so that is exactly what I did.

For the left hand side, I started with the polka dot patterned paper. This paper gives you endless options for colors and I think you can see I used them all! Ha! I printed my photo and cut it to fit inside of the transparency frame, which is from an older kit I’ve had in my stash. I brought it in for the color. The photo and the frame are adhered on top of plain white card stock so it would show better against the polka dot paper. For both sides of the layout, I have followed a mostly vertical direction, but on this side you can visually travel from embellishment cluster to the photo in a sort of zig zag pattern. I’ve filled in with all the fun embellishments: chipboard bits, butterflies, puffy stickers, and also the orange title that says You Shine.

To mark the month, I decided to bring in this very old transparency card. This is also from Studio Calico and there is no telling how long it’s been in my stash! But this is it – this is the year I plan to use these right here. I challenge you to find something random and incorporate it into your next layout too! For the right side of my layout I began with a white paper as my background. It had a vertical dot pattern, which sort of establishes a vertical line, and so everything I added on top also follows that vertical line. First I stamped a few of the sentiments onto the background, using different Versamagic colors. Then I built up the collage using the number die cuts, butterflies, and puffy stickers on top.

This was so much fun to just let loose and put things down on the page that just made me happy! I encourage you to create this way today too. Have a great time! See you back here again soon.
