Hi friends and welcome back! Today I have a travelers Notebook layout to share with you and it is all about stamping on your pages! The Cocoa Daisy January Modern Memory Keeper kit called New Chapter had some really awesome florals included in the stamp set, and so I was inspired to create a random pattern for my layout. If you’d like to see other travelers notebook pages I have created, check out this link: Travelers Notebook Layouts.
For my layout, I began with a photo taken just a few weeks ago. I just wanted to document some of my feelings about the new year, what it feels like to go into a second year of lockdown and anxiety, and to remind myself that everything is going to be alright. The Cocoa Daisy kit made it easy with some great embellishments that gave a nod to a new year with hope and optimism. And beautiful flowers from the stamp set make that layout a fun accomplishment!
Stamping the pattern:
The florals in the stamp set are perfect for creating a random pattern because there were several different elements that could be layered in different color combinations. I began with the pink and blue base flowers, filling in the right hand side of the page. Some of the flowers were stamped off so they look a bit more faded than the others. I then added the outline stamp right on top of those, which adds a bit of dimension! I also used the little star stamp in green to add little pops of color in between the flowers, and then as a final touch I added the glitter enamel dots to the centers of the flowers. Those add the most fun to the page, don’t they?
Photo, Journaling, and Embellishments:
For my photo and journaling, I layered those on the left hand side and added a few fun embellishments as supporting cast members. The chipboard embellishments follow the cascading line that was repeated in the stamping, and I left a bit of space to write a few sentences next to those. I also stamped a few of the green stars and just the flower outlines, to tie everything all together. As a pop of black and white, I also added the washi tape from the kit just at the edges of the page. Every page needs a little black and white!
This is my first layout using Cocoa Daisy kits, as a brand new subscriber, what do you think? I loved working with this kit and will be sharing more with you in the future. I hope you are inspired to create too! Thank you for joining me today, see you again soon.
