Traci Reed Designs Creative Team | Hybrid Art Journal Page With Renewal Digital Kit
Hi friends and welcome back! Today I wanted to share my process for this awesome hybrid art journal page featuring the stunning new Renewal digital collection from Traci Reed! I love creating these hybrid pages for my art journal because it allows me to play with digital paints and it also means minimal mess. Ha! If you’d like to see similar layouts check out this link: Hybrid Layouts. You can also see this layout and all the other amazing pages from the Creative Team on the Traci Reed blog! I was inspired for this page by the title words included in the Digital Kit for this collection! They are fantastic focus words and help establish the purpose of this art journal layout. I printed those onto a plain office supply transparency, the kind you can get at your office supply store that have a textured side to grab the ink and a white strip at one end so it will feed through your printer. In Photoshop I created the background using some of the amazing digital paints in the kit. I love these paints for adding texture and visual interest to any page! I also blended in two of the patterned papers so they would show a bit too. The glitter stars are also digital, and I love how they add a bit of sparkle without the mess. Ha!
Once I printed the background, I also added some strips of washi tape to blend in the center of the page. Then I layered on some of the gorgeous stickers along with the large transparency words. I’ve used the floral elements to hide some of the adhesives, but I also made some of the staples part of the intentional design. Just add them to a corner and they’ll look fine! After writing out my journaling, I stamped a few sentiments around the page using stamps from Studio Calico. I chose blue and purple inks for those so they would pop off the background a bit. They added a bit of whimsy to the page too, I think.
Thank you so much for joining me today! I am so happy to share this inspiration with you. See you again soon.
