Traci Reed Creative Team YouTube Hop | October Daily 2021 Day 19 It’s My Birthday!
Hi friends and welcome back to my 2021 October Daily album project! I am participating in the Traci Reed Creative Team YouTube Hop and you are invited to follow our video train over on YouTube. Today it’s lots of inspiration with the Autumn Enchantment digital collection, so get buckled in because it’s going to knock your socks off! This collection is just stunning! I was inspired by the moths in this collection, there are stickers and digital stamps with several different version and I’ve used them to create this magical page celebrating my birthday last year! If you’d like to see the previous pages from this album, follow this link: 2021 October Daily. Have a look at my process below.
It occurred to me as I was working on this layout that I rarely scrapbook my own birthdays! So this is your encouragement, and my own reminder, to get your own birthdays in your albums. Celebrate yourself! I was a little bit excited to create this layout, and the Autumn Enchantment collection made it a breeze. I was super in love with these moths, so I dropped the digital stamp into Photoshop, clipped patterned papers to them, and then printed and cut them on my Silhouette. I think in the end I cut about 50, both on photo paper and also on vellum. My machine was busy that day! I then sewed them all together with black thread, and arranged them onto my page. I created concentric circles, allowing them to overlap slightly, fluffing the vellum a little just to get that fabulous dimension!
For my photo, I chose this funny picture of me pretending to bite River’s ear (or donut, either one!). It’s a play on that Reel sound bite where people pretend to eat their baby, to show how delicious they are. I printed the photo to full page size and then created a flip-out for it. The smaller butterfly page became the flip page and the photo is now the base. Since the moths on this side didn’t go all the way to the bottom of the page, that became the perfect spot for my title and day number (day number is from October Mood).
Then when you flip it open, you find the journal card and travelers notebook insert that I printed, to make a home for the journaling. I loved the black journal card because it repeated the moths – aren’t they gorgeous?! And the travelers notebook signature was the perfect graph paper – you know, so I’d have lines for my messy hand writing! I added a few things to that part, the little cluster at the bottom used one more vellum moth along with a banner and a few floral die cuts. I also stamped a few sentiments onto the page with stamps from Studio Calico and Cocoa Daisy. As the very last thing, I added a few embellishments to the photo itself, just a word bubble and a few florals, and one of the smaller moths I had printed out.
So I hope this inspires you to document your own birthday this year, and also, go watch all the amazing videos in this hop! Also make sure you grab this beautiful collection, it is truly an enchanting kit that you will want to have! Thank you for following along with me today!
