Hi everyone and welcome back to my Heidi Swapp Storyline series! I haven’t shared anything from this album project in a while, but it feels great to be back in it. My creativity has waned a bit over the last few weeks, and I am excited to be feeling like making stuff again. You can see other layouts I have created in this album here: Heidi Swapp Storyline Album. I have a process video for you, check that out below!
There are a couple of things that I really love about this album: the size of the pages makes for a nice bit of real estate. Perfect for using up pocket cards! Full page photos also make a huge impact on your layout, as you can see with this one. For this layout I wanted to document the lovely blooms we received from our camelia bush this year. The Cocoa Daisy Tranquility kit had some really pretty greens and included quite a few nods to growth, so I pulled that out to use.
For my left side I used the blank page in the album itself as the base, with its lovely subtle texture. I added a few of the stitching rub-ons, washi tapes, and the little plus sign stamps to add a little something to that background. On top of all that I added my journal cards and photos. The photos are printed the same size as the cards, 3×4, with a white border to contrast. I needed a journal card for words, so the pink/peach card was great for that. With all the green on the layout, this card strikes a balance. I added just the little word strip and those gorgeous glitter enamel dots on the far left, letting them drop over the edge of the card. For the other card, I brought in a fun stripe and layered word art over top, along with a few more glitter dots. They are so much fun!
This photo of our home, with the sun’s rays shining down really makes me so happy and reminds me of all that I am grateful for. We built this house, it is part of our story, and every year I try to document in some kind of way how we changed, added to, and kept up the yard. This is home for us and I could not love it more! To embellish the photo, I used the acrylic Grow piece in the kit along with a word banner. And then, because they are so fun, I also added a few more enamel dots for just the perfect bit of sparkle.
I always share a digital template whenever I share a Storyline page, because I use templates to help me plan and design these pages. The template for this page will go out in our Newsletter tomorrow, Thursday September 9, 2021, so make sure you are signed up to receive that. Thanks so much for joining me today! See you again soon!
