Sahlin Studio Design Team | Documenting Test Track ft. Project Mouse
Hi friends, today I am sharing a Kids Scrapbook Album layout featuring Project Mouse See Ya Real Soon! This weekend over at The Lilypad, the power duo behind Project Mouse – Krista Sahlin and Brittney Leavitt will be sharing EIGHT YEARS of Project Mouse and I created this layout to join in the celebration. I am so honored to be able to be a part of this incredible product collection that allows us to document the most magical memories. I discovered Project Mouse back in 2015 when I was documenting our 2012 trip, and it wasn’t long before Krista invited me to be on the team. That was a dream come true! So I am excited to share in the celebrations this weekend, and I hope you will join us! If you’d like to see more Disney documenting, check out the following links: 2012 Disney Album and 2020 Disney Album.
My layout began with a Monthly Template, also from Sahlin Studio. Each month Krista releases a new digital template on her blog, and then at the end of the year they come available for purchase. This one is part of the Year of Templates Vol. 20. You can also purchase the See Ya Real Soon collection here: Project Mouse See Ya Real Soon Bundle. The templates make it so easy to create a layout using Photoshop or an app like Affinity that lets you manipulate PSD’s. I have created some videos with my digital process, check out my most recent one here: The Outer Banks Hybrid Scrapbook Tutorial.
The layout is backed with one of the papers from the Innovation collection, which is very Epcot-inspired. Perfect for a layout documenting Test Track! This one created a neutral background that doesn’t compete and allows the colorful elements of the page to pop! A couple of things were printed onto the background page: the title, which is one of the Word Art, the digital stamp above the photo, and my journaling. I also kept the stitching intact, which is part of the digital template. Notice how I overlapped it a bit on the label, and then I printed the label separately and adhered it just like any physical element.
I used some of the journal cards from See Ya Real Soon to fill in some of the spots next to my photo. I also printed out a few of the yellow stars, and popped those up on the page using foam tape. One physical element I added was the washi tape. They added another bit of visual interest and fun to the page!
