Project Life 2021 | January Bi Monthly 02 ft. Felicity Jane Krystal

Hi friends and welcome back to Project Life 2021! This is my series all about documenting this year in pocket pages, so come check it out with me today. I recently shared my first bi-monthly page for 2021, and today I will be sharing the second page for January in my album. To see all the layouts in this series, check out this link: Project Life 2021.

The month of January was interesting to look back on. We are just about 9 or 10 months into quarantine, and our family is staying fairly strict to distancing guidelines. The children are still home from school and we try to limit  our trips out. We did take the kids out for ice cream one Saturday afternoon, which was quite a treat! We had a tiny dusting of snow, and you will also find our cat Zoe up to her usual cute shenanigans. So many stories around home, and the Felicity Jane Krystal collection worked great for this layout!

The Felicity Jane kits come with the loveliest 3×4 cards, and no 4×6 cards, which allows you to use the gorgeous patterned papers for those pockets! This kit also had a pack of sticky notes, and those were perfect for adding little stories here and there. For my title card, I layered the back of a journal card – the grid – directly on top of the floral pattern, and then added the January with the puffy alphabets. Filling in space is such a fun way to approach these cards, and I did just that with the house stamps in the kit. For the striped card underneath, I just stamped lines and wrote directly on top of the colors. So simple and fun!

I wish I could say that I had the most fun reason to put on my Minnie ears, but the truth is I was bored and needed a little pick me up. Just a little magic at random times gets us through this, friends. Underneath are photos from the Mario game again, and I also did a little flip up about our Saturday venture to the ice cream place. We also are rearranging our living room, which is turning into such a fun project and I am so excited to document the upcoming changes. I love including our home projects into this documenting project!

So downtown Greensboro is actually quite a college town, and in the middle of UNCG is a little shop called Yum Yum’s. It is a permanent fixture in Greensboro, and so we hopped over there to enjoy a cone. I created a flip up so that I could include this hilarious photo of the kids chowing down on those giant cones! Notice that no one is looking up, they are all focused and intent. I added the flip up using an older FJ washi tape that is attached directly to the page protector. You can also see the journal card I created from the pink gingham and one of the sticky notes.

On the right hand side you will see a photo template from Paislee Press Pocket Guide No. 02, with two photos of me. Also, the photo of Zoe, who had placed herself right in the middle of this wreath as if she were a grand princess. (She really is a princess, you know!) Notice the round stamp I used, repeating the circular theme of that photo. Ha!

The 3×4 journal card was created by taking one of the lined cards and covering the parts that didn’t really work for me. I used a floral die cut and label for that and then added my journaling. For the 4×6 journal card I used the black and white pattern as the background, and then layered another 3×4 journal card plus a sticky note to create space to write. I also added another floral die cut to carry the theme throughout the layout. We had just the tiniest dusting of snow that week, and don’t you know the Krystal kit had these cute little snowy die cuts? I added just two tiny wooden hearts just to embellish a tiny little bit.
