Project Life 2020 Introduction | Ft Sahlin Studio Melon Sorbet
Hello Lovelies and welcome to a brand new album for the year of 2020! I have been holding off starting this album while finishing up 2019, and then the Featured Kit over at Sahlin Studio inspired me to get going. I am using this incredibly fun kit called Melon Sorbet, which you are definitely going to want to add to your collection! I did not create a full process video for this layout, but you can catch a super quick process over on my Instragram account in the Stories. I always like to share the details of a layout, so let’s take a look!
I really loved the color palette of this kit, with pink, red and turqouise. I printed this cute filler card and added just a tiny wooden heart from my stash. Underneath I wrote a bit of journaling and I must admit that given the current state of affairs in the world, I had mixed feelings about what I should write here. But I decided to stay true to how we were feeling going into the New Year: we had just spent a magical 9 days at the Happiest Place on earth and we are going to carry that magic with us, no matter what.
I went through our photos from our Disney trip and found two favorites, one of all six of us with Gru and Kevin, and one of just Alan and myself. I chose these because I really want to remember how amazing our trip was, and I want to carry hope into this year. There may be some who interpret this as tone deaf, but I also believe it is ever so important to remember the best times right now.
The red acrylic piece is from Colorcast Designs, and I have attached it to a bit of transparency so it will stay in place in the pocket. You can find 12 x 12 transparencies at Michael’s sometimes, and I keep them on hand. Notice the fun diagonal stripe that matches Gru’s scarf! I used that on both photos to tie them together to the rest of the layout.
To notate the year I added the wooden 2020 onto the last card. This number was from Elle’s Studio and I was holding onto it especially for this page. And then don’t you know it took me forever to find it while I was making this page? Haha! Thanks so much for joining me today. See you again soon!
