Project Life 2017 Week 09
Hi guys! Today I am sharing my process for completing my hybrid layout for Week 09 in my 2017 Project Life album! Yesterday you saw my process for creating the digital layout using Paislee Press templates and kits, and today I will add embellishments plus journaling to the printed pages.
Digital products are by Paislee Press and are available at The Lilypad by clicking the following links:
Photocentric Template No. 03
Rainy Days Digital Kit
Our stories for this week included lots of rain, which was perfect for the Paislee Press Rainy Days collection! We also had Spirit Week at Natalie’s school, and some of the spring flowers began to pop all around us!
I began with the date card using this Love card and then stamping the dates directly to the layout. The stamp set is by One Little Bird, available at Studio Calico and it is a staple in my collection these days!
Many years ago I attended a small private college called Meredith College, where I got my design degree. Natalie wanted to wear something for Spirit Week and so I let her wear this sweatshirt that I have held onto forever. So much fun!
The theme for the week was most definitely rain, rain and more rain. Sometimes you just gotta make the best of it, and there were several days we actually walked in the rain. Silly photos are a must in those cases!
I loved this photo of the street leading into our neighborhood, with blue sky just beginning to peek out but the ground is still wet. I have been holding onto this cloud wood veneer forever, so it is perfect right there!
You may have noticed a slight boo-boo when I printed this layout: the grey frame in the center of this layout still had the template text on it! No worries at all, it is now hidden underneath the label and the little stamped house. The stamps used on this side of the page are older sets from Gossamer Blue last fall.
That is all for today, thank you for following along! See you again soon!

Hi Theresa, I love this layout! I have always been a traditional paper scrapper but I want to venture into the world of hybrid. I love the word (raindrops) on this layout. Can you share how you print and cut this?
Thanks!

Hi Laura, thank you so much for visiting and for asking! Welcome to the world of hybrid – it’s a lot of fun over here. I use the Offset feature in the Silhouette software – Trace the word first, then Offset your trace pattern, in this case it was 0.040 from the original. Then be sure to delete your original trace so only the offset is left behind. Would you like for me to do a video tutorial?
