Light The Path Design Team Ashley Krueger | June 2021 One Beautiful Thing
Hi friends, Ashley here to share my Light The Path project for June. This month the theme is One Beautiful Thing. I felt this was the perfect next step to May’s prompts. These pages focus on my whole self, in all stages of my journey, being one beautiful thing.
One area I struggle in with my PTSD is accepting who I am now and who I am becoming, instead of fixating on who I was before my accident. I have been working through those struggles and viewing whole myself, even the broken parts, as beautiful helps me process and move forward. Mandy Ford’s kit was perfect for documenting these thoughts.
For the pockets, I started with the I Am card with the pastel brushstrokes. I added three sentiments from the printable stickers. Two were word strips and the center one was a messy circle. Next, I used my favorite recent photo of my whole body. I embellished it with the “I can be myself” sticker and one of the mushroom stickers.
In the lower left pocket, I added a filler card made using the mixed media looking card from the kit. To tie in the mushroom sticker from the kit, I added a sketchy looking mushroom from my stash. I finished it by stamping “remember this” underneath. Lastly, I added my journaling. I trimmed the noted card to 3in wide. Then, I layered it on top of the “goals” card from the kit for a little pop of color. The card was finished with one of the tab stickers stamped with the month.
Thank you so much for checking out my project this month. I can hardly believe we are halfway through the year already! Theresa has provided such an amazing resource within Light the Path. If you haven’t already, I strongly encourage you to join is in the workshop. As always, you can see more of my Light the Path projects in the inspiration section each month. Also, I invite you to follow me on Instagram @ashleyamak, where I share more of my work and my healing journey. Come say hi!
