Hi I’m Aneika.  I have been scrapbooking and crafting since I discovered project life in 2013.  I feel like every project could use a dash of pink and a bit of sparkle. I got into project life as a way of documenting my son’s birth and journey to motherhood.  I quickly learned that crafting was a form of therapy for me.  Here I was able to express myself and move through emotions I was having trouble expressing.  On my journey to motherhood I endured a 10 year battle with infertility and recurrent miscarriages.  During that time I dealt with many emotions of grief, bouts of depression and shame.  After I had my son I realized how much of a journey the healing process was.  I have found healing through all sorts of projects; journaling, making embellishments, shaker cards, planners and painting.

I created two project life style layouts as an intro to the Light the Path workshop.  These intro pages state where I am in my journey of healing and what I hope to accomplish.  I am at the point where I feel like I have done the internal work and am ready to move into a different phase.  I feel like every journey comes to an end or a transition into a new chapter.  Crafting has become a big part of my self care but I have also used it as a coping mechanism.  As I move through this workshop I want to explore crafting as a way of celebrating my creativity as something that makes me happy rather than a vise.

In this layout I wanted to include a picture of myself in my element.  The picture I chose is not my best but it was a happy moment in my craft room drinking way too much coffee.  The second is a picture of my desk after a watercolor journal session.  I hope you were inspired no matter where you are in your healing journey.
