Light the Path Design Team- Akansha Sahgal | February 2021 Five Senses
Hey everyone,
I am Akansha Sahgal and I am back with a layout inspiration from the February Light The Path workshop. The kit that was designed by Traci Reed had some really beautiful journal cards in it. And the one with the hearts and a circle in the center just caught my eye and I knew what I had to do with it. I started of by printing out that journal card along with one more journal card to use as the base on A4 size regular copy paper. Then I trimmed them down according to the size of the journal as well as cut out the circle from the center.
Then I placed the heart sheet on top of the other and went ahead to see the placement of the photo and other elements from the kit on the base sheet. I decided to use the tag from the kit that said “taking it one day, one hour, one breath, at a time”. I also cut out some hearts and then completed the whole thing with a banner on which I wrote down the date of when I made the layout. Once I was happy with the whole layout, I went ahead and pasted everything down.
Then I set the base sheet aside and flipped over the top sheet to attach OHP or transparent sheet on back of it. Yes, I decided to make a shaker page this time. Once, the OHP sheet was stuck down, I added foam tape around the circle as well as the corners of the top sheet. I added some flower shaped sequin and then removed the backing of the foam tape.
I used flowers just because I could associate it with this month’s prompt, “Let your senses be your guide”. The flowers always brings in the positive energy for me and makes all my senses feel refreshed and this I went with flower sequins. I then pasted the base sheet on the top sheet and my shaker page took the shape that I was imagining.
In the end I went ahead and pasted the two banners from the elements sheet on the top sheet and then added another blank banner on top of it. I first journaled my thoughts on the front and back of the blank banner. Then I went ahead and pasted the banner with my thoughts on top of the two banners. I used washi tape to paste the top banner so that it can work as a flip. And this is how I made this new layout for the month of February.
