Light the Path 2021 Design Team Zakirah Zakaria | Our Inner Child

Hi everyone! It’s Zakirah here. I’m so excited to share with you my project inspired by our Light The Path workshop theme this month. Before we go into the theme, let me share a sneak peek of the project:

This month, we have Traci Reed designing the kit that we will be using. I just love the soft and cheerful colours in this kit. The cards and word bits are perfect to document our theme for this month, which is Our Inner Child. Theresa encouraged us to use photos of ourselves from our childhood years. In the page below, I used a photo of me when I was around 15-16 years old, hugging my little sister. I also used some flowers and scatters by Allison Pennington. I love the workbook exercise this month on identifying healthier ways to express our emotional needs. Firstly, I wrote directly on the PDF file, then copied and pasted it here. This is the first page of a two-page spread.

On the second page (below), I included two photos. The first is a photo of my much-younger self with my little brother, while the second is me with my little niece. I added the cards, stickers, and paper strips from Traci’s kit and embellished the page with flowers and scatters by Allison.

I also created a scrapbook page as the opening page for this month’s project, which can be found in the inspiration gallery section of the workshop.
