Hello friends, today I have a layout from Addison’s Scrapbook Albums to share with you! I was able to get my hands on the Crate Paper Hey Santa collection and dove right in with a Christmas layout from 2019. If you’d like to see more from our Kids Scrapbook Albums, check out the link here: Larkindesign Kids Albums Project. Also stay tuned for a fantastic announcement at the bottom of this post! I have a fun process video for you, let’s check that out below.
For this page I was inspired by the vintage illustrations on this pink patterned paper, and so I decided to punch those out with my hexagon punch. Those make up the background for the two photos I have for my story. Once I punched the hexagons, the page design came together really easily.
The hexagons make for fun little home bases for some of the embellishments from the collection! I pulled from the sticker book, the puffy sticker pack, the puffy title pack, and the die cuts and just layered them quite simply onto each of the hexagons.
Our Christmas last year was one of the most amazing Christmases we will ever have: we ripped open presents and then jumped in the car to drive to Disney! So everyone was just a wee bit excited and happy, of course, but we did have a bit of fun opening our gifts. We really did not go overboard with gifts, as the kids really wanted spending money for the trip, and it was really nice to have a laid back gift time this year. We will probably do similar this year just without the Disney (sad face!) I printed off two photos, one of the four of them together, and the photo of Addison opening one of his presents.
I used some of the banner tags as embellishments next to the photos, which was a really fun way to add color on the right side of the page. I also layered that giant vellum bow, isn’t that awesome! I also wanted to say this about this layout: I really believe that creating the children’s layouts later on allows us to create for their unique personalities. You have probably noticed that there is a bit of pink on this layout, and that is intentionally because Addison loves pink!
As a final touch, I added my title using the gold puffy titles from the collection. This title is probably a bit different for me, but it works for the page because it allows your eye to travel across, finding that familiar gold texture.
Thank you so much for joining me today for this incredibly fun Christmas layout! I am getting so excited to begin documenting December this year, and especially love including these memories in our kids albums. See you again soon!
Also, I have such a cool announcement: In My Pocket has a new class coming out called In My Pocket Kids Edition Volume 02!!!!! We did a first edition last year and you all loved it so much, and this year I wanted to share more process videos with you from those albums. This class will be a smaller size than the first one – the first one focuses on how I plan and organize these albums, and this class will be process videos only. I will be offering a bundle as they will both go together beautifully! Be the first to receive information PLUS an exclusive discount code for this class when it releases. Click on the image below!
