IMP Design Team Meg Gundlach | I Love My Life
Hey friends, welcome to March! I am sneaking in today to share a spread using a kit from the February shop release: I Love My Life by The Practical Scrapper. I’m always excited to see a ‘love’ kit that can be used well past February 14 and this one sure does that. The soft colors and floral motifs were perfect for this springtime spread from my 2021 album!
Because of the ephemera I wanted to include on the left side of the spread, my title shifted to the right page this time. I had mostly selfies and screenshots to include this week but also some significant stories that I needed to make sure had plenty of room to be recorded. I have no problems combining weeks that are lighter in content, but throughout the pandemic the lack of activity is often a story in itself. I am embracing the pace and picture level of these spreads and taking advantage of the space to play with my supplies.
The circle labels were included in several coordinating colors, so I picked the pale blue and went big for my title card. This gave me plenty of room to stamp my dates with the Elle’s Studio Mini Dated Stamp (the full size Dated Stamp was just a smidge too big). I recently did a massive overhaul of my puffy stickers/thickers so I knew right where to go in search of a larger script word to add to the space above. The puffy title and the stitching both add texture to my printed elements to give them a little oomph.
A great feature of supporting independent digital designers is that elements from their various collections often work beautifully together. I wanted to note that I participated in a some virtual (inter)National Scrapbook Day activities this week and I actually had a The Practical Scrapper collection that had been released for the occasion (it’s still available on her other website here). I loved the doodled computer setup to customize the card just how I wanted. A pattern strip from the I Love My Life elements used as washi across the top of the monitor ties it all together.
The left side of the spread is almost entirely dedicated to the main topic on my mind—getting vaccinated. Here in the UK, we were assigned appointments and notified when to show up. Though this took a lot of pressure off in terms of booking, I was waiting for that darn letter like it was from Hogwarts or something. This was definitely a piece of history that I wanted to include and I was happy to give it all the real estate that it needed.
I acquired a fairly sizable stash of pandemic related cards over the last couple years and I am making a concerted effort to use them. In order to do this, I make sure to pull out one or two that match the collection I am working with and try to get one into the spread. The ‘2021/Get Vaccinated’ card from Paper Person was the perfect shade of pinky-peach to match the I Love My Life Collection and rounded out my story.
Love, love, love the I Love My Life products and I am so happy to have another spread done for my 2021 albums. Though I consider myself a ‘paper’ scrapper, digital products allow me to access a whole world of creatives and support small businesses. The new team of in-house designers here on the site have already produced a stunning lineup of products and I can’t wait to see what is next!
