IMP Design Team Maribeth Lysen | May 2021 Hybrid Pocket Pages
I had all the feels creating this layout from May of 2021. So much has changed in my life since I took these photos including my dog passing away, we sold our dream house and relocated several states. So the big feelings came up while making this layout. And that’s one of the things I love most about having a memory keeping practice. It helps me relieve all those memories even if sometimes it’s bitter sweet.
I am in love with this fun spring collection from Dunia Designs, “The Basics-Spring”. The collection has a fresh color combination with a lovely shades of sherbet orange, water melon pink, moss green, and rich cream. The water color flowers are just gorgeous! Another fun things with Dunia’s collections is she includes the alternate orientation for her cards so if you love a 6×4 card but need it to be a 3×4 she’s got you covered!
One of the best things about using a digital collection is being able to resize and recolor things to fit your layout. That’s exactly what I did to add this label to my title card so I could add my dates. I grabbed a label from the In My Pocket Collab Theme Parks Volume 03 Digital Kit (Bundle) and used the color picker to recolor the white areas to the cream and the black to the orange sherbet in the collection using the color picker tool in Photoshop CC. I added it directly to the journaling card 12B in the collection and then printed out the card. After printing, I added a chipboard from Cocoa Daisy’s “Meadow” kit and I was done!
Another favorite card from this collection is the 6×4 journaling card number 13. I adore how the flowers and leaves hug the edges of the card leaving the perfect spot to add the bulk of my journaling for this week. I like to type my journaling so I can get more of the story down on the page. I’m also not a much of fan of my own handwriting. It was wanting to type my journaling that led me to become a hybrid scrapper and I’ve since falling in love with the digital side of scrapping! After I printed out the 6×4 journaling card, I added some sparkly enamel dots to add some dimension to the card.
I loved the two filler cards with quotes about spring. I simply printed out each card and added a puffy sticker from the “Meadow” kit and called it good. It’s okay to keep things simple. I love how the puffy stickers from the kit had similar watercolor vibe so they matched perfectly with The Basics Spring digital kit. As a hybrid scrapper, I’m always on the lookout to find a good match with physical and digital supplies. This combo made me super happy.
