IMP Design Team Ashley Krueger | 52 Weekends 01 and 02
Hey friends! Today I wanted to share a quick look at how I am currently documenting the bits and pieces of 2022. Towards the beginning of the year, I saw someone online mention a project documenting the 52 weekends of the year. At the time, I wasn’t really planning on doing much documenting for 2022 yet and I moved along. The idea stuck with me. This week, I finally started this project using a 9×12 album and the Shine minikit from Dunia Designs.
Our first weekend included a snow storm on New Year’s Eve and the resulting power outage and sledding the next few days. My photos were bright and colorful. The Shine kit offered some neutral cards and embellishments that complement those photos. On this page I used cards 8 and 10. One I printed as is and wrote my journaling directly on top of. Before printing card 10, I moved the design up a little to add space for more journaling.
For each of my albums I like to find one or two elements that I can repeat throughout to create some cohesion. My pocket page albums tend to have a repeated card style. In this case, I decided to use the soft Numbers Journal Cards from Sahlin Studio. Before printing out the cards, I added the word Week on each number.
For the 1 card, I also added a circle label for the dates and the scattered glitter frame from the Shine kit on top. The pinks of the card reminded me of the colors in the IMP Life Stories Collab kit (Also available free with purchase of the IMP Life Stories class). I used the Well That Happened word strip on card 10 from the Shine kit to add another pop of pink. To finish this page, I added a couple word strips from the Shine kit as embellishments on the photos.
Weekend Two was a little slower for us. I used card 6 from the kit and then created a journaling card using paper 6. Before printing, I grabbed a few more embellishments from the Life Stories Collab kit. I added the “This Just Happened” word strip to card 6 and the cat sticker and heart washi to the journal card I created. Then added my journaling to each.
The last step was to add a black and white label to my Week 2 card and stamp my dates. As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out my project. Be sure to head over to the shop to grab some of the awesome digital products!
