Hi friends! Today I will be sharing some Foundation Pages I have created in preparation for December Daily 2020 using the Crate Paper Hey Santa collection. I am always so excited to see what they release, and this year did not disappoint. I have been later than usual starting my foundation pages, but don’t worry! I will be posting these pages over the next few weeks and will do a final flip through before December begins. Which it feels like will be tomorrow as fast as time is going! Ha! If you’d like to see all the blog posts related to this project, check out my link here: Theresa Moxley December Daily 2020.
This year I was super inspired by Ali Edwards when she stated on the Crafty Ass Female podcast that she just took all her page protectors out of her album! This reminds me so much of the older type of albums we made, before there was any specific product for December Daily, and we used what we had. We,, then we went shopping at Homegoods and found these triangle shaped packaging for some chocolates, and that gave me the idea for this page.
I created all the flaps and then adhered them to a blank piece of card stock underneath using washi tape. The top flap tucks into the second flap, which I created using an older Stampin’ Up punch. You could easily just cut a rectangle into yours, as long as it is wide enough for your flap. This is what you see when you untuck the flap and lift up. Side Note: the green and red numbers and the black on white numbers you see here were found on Etsy.com!
And then, once you open the second flap, you will see the two vertical flaps, which I cut from a different patterned paper altogether.
And then, because opening is so much fun, you can lift those as well. There is so much real estate here for photos, journaling, embellishments, anything I feel like adding when the day comes. And, the back of the whole thing is blank white card stock as well, which will be awesome for a hybrid layout using one of Ali’s awesome templates.
This isn’t the only foundation page I made with Hey Santa!, although that was the only one I recorded a process video for. Here are the other pages I made:
A traditional pocket page layout, using some of the cut apart pieces from Hey Santa, and the confetti from the collection. I also cut up the vellum to fit in my album, and then attached the felt four from Ali Edwards on top. I used a metal pin from Tim Holtz to attach the felt to the vellum, and added the little charm and tassel. The tassel is from an older Crate Paper collection. This turned out so pretty!
The Hey Santa! collection also had some adorable little treat bags, so I chose this little red polka dot one to use for one of my days. I added tabs and punched those to fit into the album, and added just a tag with one of the shaped clips. The DEC tag is from Target. It is a day calendar in the office section that I pulled apart, which you can find here: Target Desk Calendar. And yes, we totally spent $13 just to have the numbers but this is a no-judgment zone! I was, however, inspired to create some number tags that were inspired by these numbers and they will be shared in our Newsletter this month! So be sure to sign up for that and you will have a very easy printable set of these from 1-25. I also stuffed some of the transparency cards from Ali Edwards into this pocket, and my plan is to use those along with a photo for that day, and I will need to select a number as well.
Aren’t those foundation pages fun? Be sure you are signed up for our newsletter, as I will be sending out the number tags and a print file for the flap page as well. Thanks so much for joining me today! These pages are always so much fun to create every year, in anticipation of the holidays. See you again soon!
