Hey everyone! Guess what time it is?! It is time to begin the process of preparing for the best project of the year, December Daily! This project is developed and marketed by Ali Edwards and is something that has been part of my life for 11 years. Each year I am so excited to jump in and document our holiday memories throughout the month of December, and this year I am even more committed to this project. December Daily is the process of taking one photo and telling one story every day in December, and creating a scrapbook layout in our albums. At the end of the month you have a wonderful curated book that tells all your favorite stories! In order to actually be able to create those layouts in December, preparation is key, and among the preparations are Foundation Pages. These are preliminary pages that give a direction and make decision making easier, so that all you have to do in December is add the photos and stories. Today I am sharing a very fast process video of how I created my Cover Page! This is the first item you see when you open the album, and I think it’s pretty special this year. Also, be sure to follow along with all the upcoming videos and blog posts through this link here: December Daily 2020.
The December season always seems to kick off with the Pre-Order from Ali Edwards, and I was able to snag some wonderful items this year! I did a give-away over on my Instagram and asked people to suggest a product to use, and quite a few folks mentioned the red puffy alphabet stickers. So that is what I started off with! Of course, transparencies are my favorite as well, so I layered the alphabet stickers on the red splatter transparency to spell out the year. I decided to place the Twenty Twenty in a circle, and used a chipboard circle also from the Ali Edwards products this year. Perfect!
The transparency will serve two purposes in the album: one as a page lifter to protect the pages underneath, and also to invite the reader to turn the page and see what is inside. I’m not sure what I will place underneath the transparency, maybe a photo, maybe my Reason Why page?
Then when you turn the page, you get to see the back. I was delighted that the red alphabets are white on the back. The chipboard piece was plain brown, so I added another circle on top. This one had a blank center, so I stamped the JOY using a stamp set from Studio Calico.
And that is our start to this year’s December Daily! Thanks so much for following along with us today! See you again soon!
