December Daily 2020 | Days 08-10 ft. Ali Edwards

Hi friends, guess what we are doing today? We are venturing back into the world of Christmas with my 2020 December Daily album! Last year I abruptly put my album project aside somewhere around Day 10 and decided to simply focus on the circumstances around me – I set everything aside and only took photos for the rest of the month. There was no reason to panic or to feel sad, only to enjoy the season and then come back to the album when I felt like it. And today is that day! It always comes back whenever I begin to see new products showing up. That is such a relief, to know that the mojo will come back around if you give it time. For today, I will be sharing my process for Days 08 through 10 with you. You can see other videos related to this project here, if you’d like to catch up: December Daily 2020 Album. Follow along with the process video below.

Starting with Day 08, I chose the tree transparency and the wooden number 8 and adhered the number directly to the transparency. I also cut a bit of patterned paper to back the number with, and printed two photos to insert into the circles of the number. This is probably one of the easiest ways to make a December Daily page ever! I added a few embellishments on top of my photos, and then punched circles from two journal cards for the back. My story was based simply on the photo of myself and Alan stealing kisses in the kitchen one night! You can also see the chipboard deer and word art I added to the back of the envelope from Day 07. So pretty!

Day 09 was really cool. On one of our shopping excursions we found this large number 09, which we think used to be a house number. It was thin and light enough, and had a handy little loop that made it really super easy to place into my album for this day! On the back of it, I added a photo of Natalie that I cut into a circle. I then added the chipboard title to say Love You More. This is something she and I say to each other a lot!

My story was all about how she and I went over to Kohl’s, and the only shopping cart left for us to use was one of the stroller carts that had a really bad wheel. I kept running into things, and she finally turned to me and asked me, point blank, if this was what it was like when she had to ride in the stroller? I just about died laughing and said, why yes! It was just like that!

To house my story, I used the tag and added my writing plus a bit of washi to embellish. I also used a puffy word strip and a red and white ribbon. The back of this tag serves as a home for the photo for Day 10.

For Day 10 I just used a photo from my studio. This was a quiet day of work and not much else. I stamped Day Ten using a wood block stamp from Hero Art, and then included a transparency from Ali Edwards on the right hand side. I had already stamped these tags and attached them to the transparency, along with the tiny red star. The Joy tag gave me a little spot to write my journaling, and this day was complete.

As a bonus, I will also show you Day 11. I had already completed this page earlier, and noticed it didn’t get a number! Then when I started the next day, I kept going with the number that should have been on this page. So here is my look at Day 11, and when we come back we will pick up at Day 12!

It feels so good to get back into this project and I am so happy to have you coming along with me. See you back again soon!
