Theresa Moxley December Daily 2020 | Days 04 Thru 07 Ft. All The Good Things

Hi everyone and welcome to Days 04 Thru 07 in my 2020 December Daily! Today’s pages were so much fun to pull together, but definitely gave me some challenges. I love this project so much and feel the pressure to try to make everything just perfect, so I am trying to let go of that and just enjoy. If you’d like to see all of the process videos I have created for this project, check out the link here: Theresa Moxley December Daily 2020. Have a look at today’s process video here.

Day 04:

I began Day 04 with one of the number-specific foundation pages. I had already designated the felt 4 to go with that adorable vellum from Crate Paper. So the question became what to pair with it? I decided on a 6×8 pocket page and added a hybrid template. This allowed me to still have a place for my journaling plus my photo. My story for Day 04 was just about how my husband and I have had a few rough days, and he came to me at 5PM and said, “Let’s just get outta here.” So we went to a few shops and had a chance to unwind a bit.

For my digital part of the layout, I used one of Ali Edwards templates and adjusted it just a bit to fit my words. The original template calls for 4×6 vertical photos but I elongated it a bit. I liked this template because it gave space for a date stamp and some other embellishment at the bottom. The template also had word art at the top, but I left that blank. My first instinct was to fill all that space across the top, but in the end I felt all it needed was the number 4 and a couple of chipboard word strips.

Day 05:

When you turn the page, you will find Day 05. I had the back of the 6×8 page, and I chose to pair it with the tree foundation page I created earlier. My story for this day was all about putting up the tree. I used a photo of Alan and decided to cut the photo up to fit into these triangles. Did it work? Yeah, maybe, maybe not. This is where I am letting go of perfection and going with it. Truth be told, I really ran out of time to fuss with it any more.

Below you can see the photo when you lift up all the triangles. The 6×8 pocket is another Ali Edwards template, with another blurred out photo of our living room while decorating was in progress. I added one of those gorgeous numbers from Colorcast Designs, and the way I positioned it over the Home word art means it sticks out just a tiny bit over the top of the photo! I love that so much.

As I was creating these foundation pages, I made a point to save a cut out for the back of the tree. I traced this outline and scanned it into the computer, and then brought it into Photoshop. Using the Path tool, I traced again around it and then added my text within that shape. I loved how this turned out and especially love that the transparency still shows through around my triangle tree! Even though this concept didn’t quite work out the way I had planned, I am still really happy with it and I’m glad I made it.

Day 06:

For Day 06, my story was about making our yearly Target run to get the stocking stuffers. This was one thing we were afraid we might not be able to do, and so I made sure to include this story as a way of expressing gratitude. I chose the transparency I made with the Post-It notes, which makes for a really simple way of making a page! I adhered four of the Post-Its in a simple grid and then embellished each one. My photo is of Alan, while we were checking out. The stamping was done with the Paislee Press stamp set from this year’s release, along with the red chipboard piece. I then added my journaling to the last one.

Day 07:

For Day 07, I chose the paper pocket from Crate Paper. My story was about our cat, Zoe, who has been quite ridiculous lately. She freaks out a bit whenever things get moved around, so having the tree and ornaments out has thrown her for quite a loop. It has been a mixture of annoying/darling/hilarious with her, and on this day she popped up in Natalie’s chair like a human waiting for her dinner. Silly girl, you don’t get your food there! I printed my photo on a 4×6 and then wrote journaling on the Ali Edwards transparency cards. Her pen worked beautifully for the words, you can purchase that pen here: Ali Edwards Slickwriter Pen!

You can also see I changed the tag from DEC to 7, so it was immediately clear what day this belongs to. I also used a copper clip to hold the photo + card together, along with a ribbon from Target. I was relieved to have two relatively simple days, after spending a bit of time on Day 05! Ha!

That is all I have for today! I feel I am at a good place with this project, how is yours coming along? I will share more very soon, see you then!
