Clique Kits Creative Team | September Mood Board Scrapbook Layout with Cape May Kit
Hi friends and welcome back to my blog! Today I am playing along with the October Mood Board over in the Clique Facebook Group. Each month we are given a fun mood board to provide inspiration and I love creating with these mood boards because often there is an element or a vignette that sparks something for me. Today I’ve used my Silhouette and the Leafy Cut File from the Clique Kits Shop, along with the Cape May kit to create this layout for River’s albums. This page began with the October Mood Board, and there were several elements that inspired me right off the bat! First, the color palate is so beautiful with its rich fall tones. I went into my kits from Clique Kit and felt like the Cape May kit has this wonderful transition feel, from summer to fall. I expanded the color palate a little bit to include blue and red. Other elements that interested me were the feathered leaves hanging from the branch, the handwriting, and the leaves scattered around the doormat.Let me show you how I incorporated these into my layout!
The first thing I did was simply cut out all of those gorgeous leaves from three of the patterned papers in the kit. That gave me six different options of color and pattern to include on this page! I found a sheet of this orange card stock in my stash to use as the background, and then I decided to use a central kind of page design where all of the elements build a sort of column in the center. The title is built on top, then the photo towards the bottom half, and all these luscious leaves at the bottom. They are cascading from the photo as if they were the leaves in the Mood Board!
Once I had all the leaves in place underneath the photo, I added my title. I pulled title word stickers from my stash, they are probably Shimelle from Box of Crayons! And the tiny filler alphabets are Paige Evans. I kind of felt like the layout was bottom-heavy, so I also added a few leaf clusters around my title. The tiny glitter dots were fun to sprinkle around as well, and I also sprinkled some word stamps and leaf stamps around. Those stamp sets were from Studio Calico and Laura Bailora. For my journaling, I used a very simple shipping tag and just tucked it into the side of the photo!
