Hi friends and welcome back! Today I have a scrapbook layout I’ve created for the Clique Kits creative team, and we are going back in time a bit to when our children were much smaller! I am working with the Sunchaser Sampler Kit, which contains many elements from Heidi Swapp’s Sunchaser collection, along with puffy stickers and transparency hearts from Studio Calico and an alphabet set from Obed Marshall. How fun! If you’d like to see other layouts I’ve done for our kids’ albums, check out this link: Kids Albums Project. I have a full process video for you, so come follow along with me!
My photos and story for this layout were from a late summer day back in 2013, and we were with all our children at the top of Mount Mitchell, the highest point in NC. They were having the best time running and playing, and I was capturing the new fall lighting on film. I felt like the colors in the Splendid patterned paper would work beautifully for a page that melted summer into fall, so I cut all these luscious stripes apart and adhered them to a fresh sheet of white card stock. This created such a stunning background!
Once I adhered all of the wavy stripes down, I distressed the top edges just a bit, as if they had been gently worn by the sunshine as well. This created a little spot to tuck in words and die cuts all around the page! I began with the puffy titles, layering them color on top of color and keeping rainbow order. I then added tiny word strips, tags, hearts, die cuts, and anything else that seemed fun to add. I placed the photos in the center but sort of off to the right edge, and everything seems to circle around these darling photos. For my journaling, I tucked a half of a tag underneath the photo and of course added a few more puffy hearts and stars nearby. This was the best way to use up these fun supplies!
That is my layout for today! It was really fun and can be repeated with any sort of striped patterned paper, or paper with rainbow, sunshine rays, just cut them apart and tuck in all your fun bits and bobs. Thanks so much for watching!
