Art Journal With Me Volume 05 | Life Is Beautiful
Hello Lovelies! Today is Wednesday and that means it is time to Art Journal With Me! Lately I have been creating smaller, simpler art journal pages in the Daily Pages style similar to Kristin Tweedale of Awesome Ladies Project. Her idea is to create every day and to really simplify your process down so it takes much less time while still allowing you time to create. If you’d like to see more of my pages in this series, follow this link here: Larkindesign Art Journal With Me. Let me share with you today’s page and how it all came together!
First, gather your supplies. I am working in a travelers notebook from Prima Marketing. Today I was inspired by these brand new wood block stamps I ordered from Joann’s, designed by Maggie Holmes. These are inspired by the Sunny Days collection, so I also pulled a few patterned papers and stickers from that collection. I followed the color palette in the ink cubes, pink, yellow, and green.
Cut down your patterned paper to fit your notebook and adhere it into place. Add a really rough layer of gesso over your paper, leaving the border so your beautiful pattern can show through. Gesso is so magical as it allows the polka dot to show here, but also provides a place for the elements of the page as well.
Once the gesso is dry, add a few washi tapes to your page. I created clusters with each of the three colors of washi, and notice they form the visual triangle on the page. The elements I will continue adding to this page will live on these clusters.
I used a ink cube from Hero Arts to stamp the word sentiment and the green floral stamp onto my page. Continue building onto your clusters. I also used the little pink cube to stamp the hearts. They didn’t show so well, but that will be ok.
For the final step I added a few stickers from this collection. I love the girl with her cute smile and happy little wreath on her head! I also stamped my date, again using the green ink cube. So simple and so adorable! Thanks for joining me today! See you again soon!
