2022 December Daily Foundation Pages Part 01

Theresa Moxley 2022 December Daily Foundation Pages Part 01

Hi friends and welcome to my first post for 2022 December Daily! I am so excited every year to participate in this fantastic project, and this year promises to be even better! If you’re new to December Daily, let me tell you a little about it. This is an album concept where you document one photo and one story for each day throughout the month of December. This project was created, marketed, and trademarked by Ali Edwards, and you can read more about it on her site: Ali Edwards December Daily. I began doing this annual project back in 2008, and my first one wasn’t really a Daily (even though no one keeps track!), and it wasn’t long before I fell head over heels in love. That means this is my fifteenth year doing this project! Wowee! You can see some of those years, since 2014, and those links are found in the right hand Sidebar here on the blog. Pretty amazing, isn’t it? At the time of this post, I still have 2021 and 2012 to finish. Not bad, huh?!

Today I am sharing a bit of my Foundation Pages with you. These are base pages that many of us pull together in preparation for this project before December starts. My approach to these early pages is as follows:

  • What products and techniques are you inspired to work with this year? I’ve taken a long hard look at the products I use year after year, and honestly was a bit surprised at what I found. I found that some designers no longer really inspire me, I also found that having Felicity Jane stop doing kits inspired me to include the Ivy kit, and also working with Traci Reed is a huge inspiration as well. As far as techniques, I am definitely wanting to do some fun interactive pages, but I also want to do some more pages like I’ve been doing with my Silhouette and flip-outs.
  • How are you scrapbooking right now? Hybrid scrapbooking, which is using digital kits and products along with printed and physical products, has my heart. I love planning out pages in Photoshop, printing my favorite embellishments, and then printing them off to complete my pages! And even though I’ve done a lot of foundation pages so far with physical product, I’ve also left myself space to add hybrid templates. Also, stay tuned because Part 02 in this series will focus on my hybrid process for prepping foundation pages!

So let’s jump in with some pages, shall we?! Starting with my opening page, I grabbed the Felicity Jane inserts from Noel from a few years ago because I loved the simplicity of this graphic tree! I added the puffy alphabets and then backed it with the floral patterned paper from Ivy. I also added the little word strip to the transparency tab with the perfect sentiment!

These Felicity Jane base pages really kick started my process for this year, and since doing all those I also added a few Ali Edwards/Paislee Press pages. Here’s what I have so far:

I was also really fond of the Mittens and Mistletoe collection from Crate Paper, as I always love their Christmas collections the best! These are my page ideas so far:

Surprisingly, that is already a half album, at 12 pages! And it feels like they just came together in about 2 days or so. How about you? Are you working on pages like this right now? It’s exciting, isn’t it?! I will be back soon with more pages. See you then!
