Hello Lovelies and welcome back to my 2019 Project Life album! Today I have a bi-monthly layout from September to share with you, and we are going to use a traditional scrapbook collection to document these memories! I had a bit of Pink Paislee Indigo and Ivy left, including the cut apart sheet, so come follow along to see how this turned out. Using traditional scrapbook collections in pocket page layouts doesn’t have to be complicated! I always purchase the cut apart sheets that most collections include, and use those as the jumping off point for the layout. Anything that can be layered is fair game, and especially anything with lines gets used up first. The Indigo and Ivy collection had some great tags and word art that were perfect for this layout!

I began with my date card, as always, using this B-side patterned paper cut down to 4×6. The lines were a bit wonky, which made adding the alphabet stickers a bit funny, but I love that the card includes all the colors for the layout. This immediately sets the tone for the entire page. The alphabet stickers are also from Indigo and Ivy, as is the You Amaze Me word art and the wood veneer flowers.

I have found for most of 2019 I had enough photos for two layouts per month, and I really like this set up. I am loving taking a more relaxed approach to taking photos, and just creating the pages I feel inspired to create. No pressure, just however life leads. For my 3×4 pockets I used patterned papers as the base, and then layered elements on top. The black Choose Happy circle was cut from one of the cut apart pieces. I also used one of the rub-ons to add a little word art to the green striped card.

Alan took me way out into the middle of nowhere for a really cool date night – a lantern festival! We had such a good time that night, and at the time I was still very much in the planning stages of Light The Path, so we sent off a wish for that project. For my photo, I simply added the transparent word strip on top.

The other two 3×4 cards on this side were created by layering patterned paper with a die cut for one, and I created a tag for the other. Some of the pieces from the cut apart sheet aren’t always straight up 3×4, but it was easy enough to cut down the Keep Dreaming piece into a tag for layering.

Our stories for the left hand side were all about projects we were working on. Alan and I are most happy when we have projects to do, and we love being together making stuff! During this time we updated my studio by adding another Kallax and also adding the IKEA pegboard, which he then installed for me. We also ripped out a bunch of plants in our front flower bed and updated all of that, plus we changed our mulch to all black. The result was gorgeous! The house stands out so beautifully now!

Just like I do with Studio Calico journal cards, and Project Life journal cards, I look for ways to cut out the word art from my scrapbook collections, and repurpose them on my layouts as well. The My Favorite Place word art was originally a banner which was too big for the photo below, but I cut just around the word art and it looks great.

The lined 3×4 card is the same patterned paper as the title card, and this time I used it for journaling. I added another transparency word art at the bottom as well. I found some blue enamel dots that were hanging out in my stash, and added those in a few strategic places.

The 4×6 card at the bottom was perfect for a bit more journaling, so I layered a journal spot on top of the leaf patterned paper. I created a tab from the pink ledger paper, which was a die cut piece, and added another enamel dot. The last two 3×4 cards were the simplest – they were designed that way from Pink Paislee, I only added a few tiny embellishments and my journaling.
