TBT 2014 Project Life Week 40 | Kindred MPM Sahlin Studio Add-On
Hello and welcome to TBT, where I work through an older album to get them completed! Today I am continuing my 2014 album with Week 40, which is a trip to the pumpkin patch. Have a look at my process!
As part of being on the Creative Team for Sahlin Studio, this week I got to participate in creating work showcasing the November Memory Pocket Monthly products! I am using the Kindred Add-ons that are available at The Lilypad.
I was completely drawn to the purples and mustards in this collection, and could not wait to print the cards and elements to use on my page.
For the left hand side I began with this lovely title card. I stamped my sentiment using the October stamp set from the Gossamer Blue Life Pages kit, and added the wooden embellishment (also from Gossamer Blue).
Below that are these fun journal cards.
I love this photo of the four kids wandering through the rows of magical, but deadly, pumpkins. For me, the photos that come from the pumpkin match every year are almost magical. The sunlight is fantastic and they are excited to be there. Love it.
I talked in my process video about how this layout isn’t about our home, per se, but it is about home being where we are and where our loved ones are. This filler card is perfect.
When I am deciding on which cards to place in what pockets, I typically place all the white ones first and then fill in with more colorful ones. I also try to alternate the colorful ones with the white ones, so the layout remains balanced. White space gives your eye a place to rest, and colors give visual interest. Both play off one another beautifully in this collection.
Since Alan is deathly allergic to pumpkins, we do not buy pumpkins. We did buy a couple of flowers that day, although I totally did not photograph them at home! Ha! But I do love to photograph the pumpkins themselves. These do tell part of the story here.
The right hand side continues with magical orbs (of death) and pretty products.
I absolutely love printing digital elements onto vellums and transparencies and then cutting them with the Silhouette. I was absolutely delighted to find a printable sheet included in the Kindred collection that was perfect for that – and this wreath is one of those elements. It is very subtle, and I love it.
I don’t do lots of lists in my scrapbooking, but on this layout I did! These are all the things that make me happy in the fall!
This vellum frame was another one of the printables that I cut on the Silhouette, and then I layered my week number on top. The word art in this collection are fantastic too!
Look at these cuties. It is hard to believe this was two years ago. They have grown up so much since then, and I am so thankful for these moments captured.
One of my favorite cards is the ledger card that I used here for the background with the Fall stamp and the floral element. At some point in creating this layout, I gave up using black ink and switched to purple ink. I’m glad I did that.
One more darling photo of the girls. This is what our days are filled with!
Thank you so much for following along with me on this layout! I hope you are inspired here and I hope you find ways to document your happy memories too. I invite you to take a look at the Sahlin Studio Creative Team work and see all the incredibly creative ways we have used the Kindred collection here: Sahlin Studio Blog. Also if you would like to purchase the Kindred products that have been used in this layout, or if you would like to subscribe, I invite you to visit The Lilypad shop!
