Scrappy Christmas In July | December Daily 2019 Days 4 Thru 6
Hi everyone and welcome to Scrappy Christmas In July! For the month of July we are diving back into our December projects, this series was created by Tracey Fox, known as @scrappylikeafox. Join us all month long and be sure to follow the hashtag #scrappychristmasinjuly on Instagram so you can be inspired too. I honestly had to go back and figure out where exactly I left off with my 2019 December Daily album! So today I am sharing Days 4 thru 6 with you. If you’d like to see more of this album follow the link here: December Daily 2019. Watch my process video for these days here.
My process begins with Day 4, which shares a layout in my album with Day 3. I had two 4×6 pockets and had already created the Foundation Page, which looked a little like this:
Some things got shifted around a bit, as happens, and this day ended up on the right hand side instead! I have used Elle’s Studio Document December products for this layout, loving the greens and reds in this collection. My story for this day was all about Natalie’s dragon project. If you are a regular follower, you may remember that Nick had to do this project as well! This is a science project they use to learn genetic coding, and once they develop their dragon they have to create the dragon through art or sculpture. Natalie chose to draw hers, and she came proudly into my studio that day to show me how awesome her dragon was!
To mark my date I used one of the round label die cuts from Elle’s Studio along with the giant number stamp set from Ali Edwards last year. I stamped the number going off the label just a tiny bit, and then added a word strip plus a few puffy hearts. The journal card was already made, using the wooden word JOY on top of the polka dot, so all I needed to do was add my journaling.
Turning the page will be Day 5, and I am continuing to use Elle’s Studio for this day. My story is about our cat Zoe, who decided to jump up on my desk *just* as I hit Record to make a process video! She is so cute so I wasn’t one bit mad, and took advantage of the chance to pet her a bit.
I chose the stripe card to use as the background for her cute little photo, and the green card as my title/number card. I added a simple puffy number from Elle’s Studio to the top of the green card, to mark the date. For Zoe’s card, I added a fun little puffy tree and layered some puffy dots plus a star on top. So cute! Those are all still from Elle’s Studio. The white space gave me just enough room to add my journaling.
Day 6 was a very exciting day, so I introduced it with one of the wooden numbers from the Ali Edwards release. I stamped December onto that number with the Paislee Press stamp set using Staz-on ink.
You can see I moved some things around again, and put a full page photo directly underneath the wooden six. Our story for Day 6 takes up a few pages, as we attended Disney On Ice for a date night. It was so much fun for this Disney loving girl! I cut up the full 6×8 photo of the marquee on the stage, and then added a simple label and puffy stickers at the bottom.
Turning the page is more of Day 6 from Disney On Ice. I was trying to choose mostly green cards for these pages, and then add touches of color for the embellishments. There were so many cool photos to include from this fun event. This was the first time I have ever been to Disney On Ice and it was fantastic.
Thank you so much for joining me today, and for joining in the #scrappyschristmasinjuly fun as well! See you again soon!
