Scrappy Christmas In July | December Daily 2018 Days 21 and 22!!!!
Hello Lovelies and welcome back to #scrappychristmasinjuly! Today I am sharing more of my 2018 December Daily for Days 21 and 22. This project is winding down and I am so happy at how smoothly the process has gone. I hope you are inspired to create in your own albums as well! If you’d like to see the entire project you can check it out here: Larkindesign December Daily 2018.
Days 21 and 22 once again share a two page spread, which makes it easier to make product and design decisions across the layout. I am working with Pinkfresh Studio today, mostly from the Holiday Vibes collection. There were blues and reds in my photos and the product choices flow beautifully!
Day 21 begins with a photo of our presents all wrapped and stacked up in our bedroom closet. We shop throughout the month of December and wrap as we go along, and then on Christmas Eve we have the kids carry all the gifts down stairs. I wanted to take this photo and include it in the album as a show of incredible gratitude for these amazing gifts. Years ago after my divorce, I had only $80 one year to spend on Christmas for Nick and Natalie, and now to have grown and moved beyond that, to have faced all the obstacles and to be so incredibly privileged is humbling for me. In my pocket above the photo I added a patterned paper cut to 4×6 and then layered a label from a cut apart sheet plus the die cut on top. The stamped sentiment is from Kaiser Craft.
To divide the two days in this spread I added a polka dot transparency, which I believe is from Fancy Pants. I chose number from Sahlin Studio and added one to each side in black and white, as contrast to the red polka dot. You can find those digital numbers at The Lilypad via the link here: Sahlin Studio December Days No. 02.
Of course, when you turn the transparency, you find the 22 and the layout for this day. I have been living gluten free for almost two years now, and for Christmas we wanted to try some gluten free chocolate crepes! They turned out amazing! I cropped my photo to fit vertically into two 3×4 pockets, which left two other 3×4 pockets to fill.
I chose a journal card from Pinkfresh and layered a little blue birdie, then I stamped some journaling lines and added my words. I cut another piece of patterned paper to go in the pocket beneath, and then layered two circles, a red circle and the gold and white North Pole die cut.
I also added the floral medallion to the top of my photo, just for a bit of embellishment at the top.
Thank you so much for joining me today! I will see you back again soon with the last few days in the album!
