Project Life 2017 Week 25 ft. Sahlin Studio Composition!!!!
Hi guys! Today I am sharing my Week 25 layout in our 2017 Project Life album with you! I am using the Sahlin Studio Composition collection, which is the featured collection on the Sahlin Studio blog this month.
Have a look at the completed layout here:
I began my layout with the featured digital collection at Sahlin Studio this month, called Composition. I had a great selection of photos from the week and the colors from the kit go well with my colorful photos.
Our stories this week included making the most of the time left before Addison and Emberlynn go to Florida for the summer. They have lots of grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins who lovingly host them every summer and they truly have the best time when they go. But we take a little extra time to enjoy hanging out together. I had a few photos from our flower beds this week as well!
I chose some very simple embellishments from Elle’s Studio and Gossamer Blue for this layout. I am always a fan of navy and I love the navy included in the kit, so the navy embellishments repeat that color across the page.
This kraft-color card provided a great neutral space for journaling, and I added the awesome stamped word to the cut line just to give it a little kick. Also notice the pile of stuffed animals on the bed? Natalie left those there for me several nights in a row – first it was just one or two and that night it was all of them. Too funny!
On the left hand side I used the navy stripe patterned paper as the background, which contrasts so nicely with the mint on the left side. This photo shows my white pitchers that I collect and showcase in the kitchen above the cabinets. I found a new one that week, so we took them all down, washed them, and put them back up all fresh and sparkly. I loved seeing them all there on the counter, waiting to go back up!
I love the graphics in the Sahlin Studio collections, every one. These yellow and red cards are so simple yet bold, and I am trying my hand at clipping photos to the cards as well. I really like the photo of that giant croissant there. (FYI it was delicious!)
This mint card is such a simple filler card, and its purpose here is to balance the mint green on the left hand side of the layout. I love the simplicity of this.
This last photo is enlarged and shows the kids all together hanging out at the mall. These really are the wonder years, and I am so thankful to have these photos of all of them together every so often. I am even more thankful to have these albums filled with all these photos and stories.
My heart is with the people of Texas who are finding their way back to the remains of their homes. I am seeing so many stories of photos and albums and scrapbooks that are damaged and hoping to be restored in some way. This is an important reminder to back up your hard drives, host your photos on outside websites, and digitize digitize digitize. Love to you all.
